Question for the EMR faithfull -
I just saw Blue's newest video promoting the 2013 season and he stated that the FALL Castle Conquest is going to be held at for Worr and not the big castle. I was wondering why?
Also - Pump Pandemonium will be a Pump-Castle game. I thought there was a lot of people who didnt care for that format last year.
Just curious, I'm trying to figure out what events we are going to hit next year.

Not sure about the Fall Castle but the Pump Pande and Pump Castle are being combined into a pump weekend including play under the lights Saturday night.
I imagine that the Fall Castle turnout has not quite been enough to warrant the big castle and moving to Fort Worr should make for a better game with he number that are there.
I was kinda bummed out because half my group went to pump castle and I couldn't, and said the would go to Panda. But of course they didn't so I didn't want to drive 6 hours by myself. I would love it if they keep it to one big pump game a year! It keeps it special! And I think the turn out will be better. Feyd................

Pump panda this past summer was basically private walkon style play no big game.
Talk at that event was to do a 2.5 day event starting with Friday night games, and then an attack/defend (Castle) and a big flag game (Previous pandas) Saturday and Sunday.
Running 2 Castles a year as long as they have, it's been getting a little stale. Fort Worr might just be a plan to liven it up a little. I know getting in is HARD.

Ive been doing these castle games on and off since they began. As far as game play goes, yes I think its gotten very stale. I go mostly to hang out with everyone.
Ive always looked forward to the PP games whenever I can make it, which unfortunately hasnt been for the last 2 years.

Pump castle format was fine. Putting it on a holiday weekend and making it in addition to pump panda so that most people had to choose one or the other wasn't.

I actually like Fort Worr better than the big castle... and moving it may promote a better game. Too many people just sit up on the hill and rain paint... I didn't find the game fun anymore from an attackers standpoint. It was waay to frustrating trying to get people to attack when all they had to do was sit and rain paint. Movign the game to Fort Worr sounds encouraging.
Pump pandemonium this year was ... eh. My team has religiously been coming up for the Saturday big game, but may skip next year. Because there weren't enough players (lack of EMR promotion didn't help numbers), it turned into walk-on pump play. Fun, but not what we made the drive for. If they do pump castle on Saturday, I will bet that the pump big game on Sunday will be a bust again, because most players will be too hung over and/or too lazy to be ready on time or even attend. Sucks, because pump big games are awesome and this was the only one around within driving range for us. May have to consider some other EMR scenario, but will definately miss the pump action.

I am grateful that EMR gives us a location, lodging and a dedicated weekend, but EMR events are what we as the players make of it. I have also noticed over the last 5 Pandamonium events the decreasing amount of play time by the players in favor of socializing and libations on the bunkhouse deck.
As the Commandos slowly age, a lot go more for the social aspect rather than the physical game. But the alternative is to not attend, thereby making the choice easier for Blue to discontinue one of the few regular pump events. So if we the players want more "game" at the big game, it up to us to encourage, cajole and bribe more local folks in our own zip codes to come out and try pump paintball and a great venue. Be the change you want to be.
On one hand, I completely agree and always spread the word of this game, but on the other hand, I'm spending my money to play a game, not take a chance on it happening. We had a feeling that this year was going to be a dud, but went anyway. Unfortunately, we were right. If it sounds good next season, we'll be there. If not, then we'll dedicate our hobby time and money to a different quality event.
