Dude, You & Masse were the two I missed the most.
The rest of us had a hellava good time.

My top three "thank you's" go out to Strat + for allowing us to play, To Slimbad for getting such great folks together, & to Titus(&Amber) for food.

Close behind those is a big "Huzzah" to those who came in from out-of-State.
Jack, Jeff, Sean & others...You guys were a more than welcome sight to see and the game would not have been as much fun without you.

I took pics, I'll have them uploaded soon. MoonGod had a camera around the staging area the night before and I can't wait to see how those came out...

mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

Recap

Saturday Night

20 folks on site for campout

1. There be spiders in the porta potty
2. Turn the volume on the music lower - it's an old thing
3. Hard wood is good
4. Bring warm clothes if you are camping over
5. When is a sparkler not a sparkler

Sunday

1. Amber and Titus - Good folks keeping the beginnings as a reality - loved the pumpkin squares.
2. Jack - he knows what need to continue on as something that started years ago. Remember and convey.
3. Pyrate - establishment of the fire pit is a central point - major kudos for the effort.
4. Yoda, Feyd, Born4Evil, Rocco, etc.... and the rest of the crew from points north - brothers that know and how to keep stock class alive. We talk of the past and the joy of taking in what we hear and relate 'round the campfire. It's always a good thing and helps us.
5. The spider that bit my toe that I brought back last night -arghhhhh
6. Slim - keeping the dream alive is is his task for CT snd points beyond - keep the dream alive me friends.

P.S. Pepperocini juice and shots of whiskey is a unique concept. Rocco, I must try it sometime

I'm Stock Classy!

Thinking back on all of the stock-class games I've put together over the past 10 years, there has always been one common denominator - the camaraderie of the players.

Whether it's been the renegade games that I used to host at my place, or the games held at commercial fields, it seems that at least half of the enjoyment players experience comes from what happens off of the field. The cookouts, the camping, the cocktails around a bon fire, and even the long commutes to the "away games" has solidified friendships and bonded the local stock-class community far more than just playing in the games themselves. In my mind, being able to have a camp out is what makes the event as great as it is.

On Saturday night we had 20 people attend the pre-game camp out, with the majority of folks staying over night (in 9 tents and 1 pop-up trailer). I want to give thanks to Pyrate for his clean up efforts and fire pit prep. Thanks to Amber and Titus for not only bringing extra wood, but for their generous contributions of Jello shots, burgers, pumpkin squares and the big grill (don't forget about the hook on the inside of the lid trick I showed you). For the record, Titus and Amber were spreading cheer ever before they spread the ground cloth for their tent despite the setting sun!!! Thanks to Yoda for his contribution of top-shelf tequila and margaritas. And thanks to everyone who attended the festivities, and made it one for the history books (though I'm sure your livers are still trying to recover).

On Sunday we had 40 registered players minus 1 camp out casualty who couldn't make it out of his tent the next morning. I have to say that it is amazing how well some people can play with no sleep with alcohol still raging through their systems. We also had some players who had never experienced a stock-class-only event. They loved it! They told me that they had so much fun that they couldn't wait till our next event! It was great to walk around during lunch hour and see everyone grilling and trading "war stories". Again, thanks to Amber and Titus for offering up burgers to anyone who wanted one!

I believe we played 9 or 10 games in total, and all were played on the "good fields". At the end of the day, there were no injuries and everyone seemed to have a great time. By my standards, that makes the event a huge success - even though my personal playing performance was horrific.

I'm proud to have our events be as successful as they have been, and even more proud to be part of the great group of players that value and respect the original spirit of the game of paintball! Viva Cinco de Mayo and Viva Stock-class!!!

Thanks again,
Slim

BTW, I'll be posting up even more game photos on our Facebook page HERE. If you haven't done so already, "friend us" on Facebook to keep up to date with all of our antics and upcoming events.

I was saying to Brian on the way home how fortunate we are to have such a large group of dedicated Stock players at Splatttland and with our TAC brothers, and those guys from Rhode Island and New York.

My knees gave out for the last two games and I missed the group photo, but had an awesome day. Despite the chilly start it turned into a most beautiful Spring day.

Great to sling paint with you guys again, heal up fast CraigO, I missed getting gogged by you this time.

Next time we hit Strat + I think we should tape off some smaller fields, humping those hills killed my knees.

Best of times my friends, THANK YOU!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for allowing me the opportunity to share and enjoy your tradition. This was my first time attending the camp out and didn't fall asleep till the am, right around the time for registration. It's funny I wasn't even that tired, I registered, went back to my camp to get my gun, closed my eyes and woke up at noon. Doh!
Needless to say I have to show up next year and redeem myself.

But like Slim said, thank you all for making that an awesome event that won't be soon forgotten.
