last season was the first season we played in speedball tournements. bettween seeing other teams flat out wipe and cheat to win and seeing refs making horried calls or not paying attention to the game at all, it was quite a challenge to be, what felt like, the only honest team. we made it through and place 4th in the season overall(playing 4 out of 5 tournys). this year we will be playing at the novice level. to tell you the truth i think we gained some respect by playing the way we did and have passed these ethics onto other teams at our local field.

i think that to make the changes we want to see in paintball, we have to be those changes.

there are a ton of tips i can give you on your first season of speedball but the biggest is to have a consistent team. play with good reliable people. if you play a 5man play without subtitues, and play with those same guys troughout the season. you can play the 3mans but we skipped them so we could have every other month to practice as a whole team.

also good luck!!
If you'd like to give us any tips, they'd be much appreciated.
Good luck to you as well.

I did get his tips, and it is far too long to post up here. Chaos, I will email it to you, and it is quite helpful.

Okay, we are registered for the 3man tournament this Saturday. $100 for the team, plus paint (I assume we will all buy our own). I have myself, Marc, and Bane, along with a TBD slot open (hopefully, have not heard back from Marc).

I will try to give you guys a ring Wed or Fri to go over things beforehand (my internet access is limited - I am away this week). The tournament check-in is 8:00 am for captains, but I would hope that we can meet at about 7:00 am to get things together and go over some things before the tournament. I would also ask that you bring the $$$ that day for the tournament ($33 each, but I guess Bane has already paid Chaos).

As for Jerseys, I am going to pick up a Dye C5/C6 grey jersey (team colors), since you need long-sleeve shirts only. Let me know if this acceptable, since it would be nice if we looked like a cohesive unit.

temprary jersey

I know we are going with custom Grey/blue camo jerseys eventually, but how about Dye Digi-cam jersey as a temp? Here it is on eBay (I may just go ahead with this to get it quicker):

eBay: Dye C7 Limited Edition paintball jersey Digi Camo XXL (item 270111146660 end time Apr-24-07 18:15:00 PDT)
