Well, if you have a short remote, you can point the bottle upside down and test it out, see if the liquid alone will solve the issues.

And my remote I mean like 6" or so inches.

That I can do, I can actually use my T-Stock with the ASA attached, and just have it facing vertical instead of horizontal, great tip. Appreciate it!

A regular CO2 tank outputs around 800psi. Pretty much the same as a typical preset HPA tank. Siphon tanks also output 800psi, but like Chappy said, they work differently.

So don't feel old. Siphon tanks are fell out of fashion about 14 years ago. Oddly, I feel old because I use siphon tanks exlusively. You get all the benefits of HPA (no spikes, shootdown, etc), but it is very quirky.

Plus, like azzy said, you can simulate a siphon by running a regular co2 tank upside down on a remote. I had to do that once when Coram-LI refused to fill my siphons (hydro). So I rented to co2 tanks, and made a "homemade" remote by connecting a bunch of bottomlines together, and ran the tank upside down. Worked very well, except there was bad FSDO.

I think Evil Ed has that remote now? Pretty funny to think about it...

That must of been quite the site to see...
Just found a guy on here selling a 68 special with a Siphon tank, plus a spare siphon setup (will install on one of my new CO2 tanks... so with the spring that Chappy has been kind enough to offer I should have the old gal back terrorizing the noobs at Orbital soon...
muhahahaaa!

When you remove your valve, make sure the pinvalve does not have a "groove" like this one:

If it does, throw it away and replace it with a safe version.

What is wrong with the grooved version?

i don't know for sure but i would think that the groove will weaken the hold of the threads.

My guess, and this is only a guess, is that the groove was originally intended as a safety vent to allow any pressurized gas to escape in a more controlled manner in case the valve was unthreaded while still under pressure. The only logical thing to me is what c6quad mentioned, it must weaken the connection between valve and bottle enough to make it too dangerous. Interested to find out the the true reasoning... well back to the internet.

The purpose of the groove is so that paintball companies can use loctite without having to actually torque the valves properly. The groove prevents the loctite from clogging up the vent. (which can render it useless).

Not only does that render the valve weaker, but it makes siphons, and anti-siphons useless, since the liquid/gas bypassing the tube and goes through the groove.

Not really an issue if pulling a valve on an old tank. They only seem to show up on tanks that were made AFTER nps was sued.
