Vector Disassembly

Even though I don't plan on using the Vector at Fall Castle I decided to spend Sunday afternoon getting it working again. Carefully, I did a TOTAL disassembly short of the ram. Prior to this, the Vector wouldn't even fire when gassed up. I traced the problem to the 4-way valve. It was jammed up. I didn't want to do it, but I disassembled the 4-way. It was filthy! What an intricate little bugger! So, now that everything is clean the Vector works again. The only problem I have is that the bolt jams when gassing up if the barrel is on. If I remove the barrel, turn on the CO2, and put the barrel back on it works fine. I'll figure that out some other time.

After a full disassembly, I see why the Vector was so expensive. It's a very cool gun, no question. However, the simplicity of the Montneel Z1 (for example) makes me wonder what these guys were thinking when designing it!

Loosen the "twist" on the barrel some and you should be fine.

To do this, loosen the barrel mounting bracket on the front of the power unit. Do the reverse of what the manual tells you to do in tightening barrel wobble and that will release your bolt.

As you know, the tension between the front unit and the rear barrel mount is what keeps the barrel tight. Loosen that up and your bolt will free up.

This probably isn't your problem, but make sure that your shroud screws are not too deep into the gun. These can slow up or stop a bolt, but it wouldn't make any difference that the barrel was on or off.

Good luck.

Drum that problem you describe is it also the fix for if a bolt slows down before the forward position causing it to not fire?

Also I need some internals for the trigger area.

Just to update this old thread...

Apparently, I had the shroud too tight which was causing the bolt to stick when hitting the forward position. Thanks to Al for taking the time to check it out for me... (sniff, missing Al...)
