Vector no workie...

Ummm...so I got a Vector, but it doesn't work.

I can't remember who I got it from (was on MCB), but it supposedly works, but it doesn't for me. When it gases up, and I pull the trigger, the bolt only goes forward a little ways and then stops, and I have to put it on safety to reset the bolt, and then it does the same thing again. What's the problem?

Loosen the 2 4-way screws(on the right side of the gun after the pnue-cover has been removed), gas the gun up. Jiggle the 4-way up and down to find the proper timing spot9Fire it here and there) then hold the 4-way in the spot where it functions properly and tighten the screws. I have found the 4-way on most Vectors likes to be somewhat tilted downward.

When you loosen the screws up you'll see the up and down play that I refer to.

My guess is it's what kidneythief said, however, once you have the shroud off and before you mess with the 4-way, test the gun. The shroud screws can bind/block the bolt slider if they are in too far. It would suck if you moved the 4-way and it was the shroud the whole time

Good call. Just make sure to HOLD ON to the trigger bits as your are testing if you have to take the cover off and adjust the 4-way. Some of my trigger parts went for a walk when I had the same issue.

What REALLY sucks is trying to find a piece you know damn well you can't replace...

I crawled around with a flashlight and and a duster for nearly an hour looking for the tiny little part that jumped ship.

I tried it without the shroud, and it was the same story. I'll have to get a tank of air and test it out with the jiggling.

One of mine was giving me similar issues. I believe my problem to be the LPR putting out too much pressure.

Probably not the case. If it is you have a major issue which will be PITA to resolve correctly. 99% of the time it will be either the shroud or the 4-way placement.

Best way to adjust the 4-way is gas the gun up, fire so the bolt sticks, loosen the screws, move the 4-way until the bolt returns, hold the 4-way in that position and tighten everything back up.

Roberts- how did you manage to temporarily lose trigger parts? Did you remove the whole side plate? By just loosening the 4-way moutning screws nothing should have gone on with the actual trigger parts. It only takes about 1 turn on each screw to accomplish the adjustment.

I had the whole side plate off.

Funny thing about those trigger-bits... they're under some tension. :P

I had a hell of a time getting it all back together.
