I haven't seen any mention of the Handy Man's Secret Weapon yet. It works on everything!

How do you guys run your air bunkers? i.e., do you have a continuous air source, or do you just blow them up like a big balloon with a leaf blower, cap 'em, and let them sit all day with the air they got in them?

I just acquired a bunch of air bunkers - most will need some work - 90% will need patches - but I don't know exactly how they work. They're old Sup-Air bunkers.

I bought 2 used leaf blowers for $100

Blue em up early in the day, cap em, top em off at lunch and let air out if they get too tight

Ok, how exactly did you rig up the leaf blower to the air port on the bunker? Materials used?

No adapter!
My blowers came with 4ft of hard plastic nozzle that unscrews into 2 two footers

It's bigger than the whole but works just fine

I don't think I have ever seen a leaf blower used for air bags that didn't have a bottomless pop or gatorade bottle duct taped to the end so the air could blow through the bottle neck and into the air bag. Real high tech.

sooo winter came and went.

field mice got to a few of the bunkers (ugh)

after doing a little research...... pbn led me to "Tear-Aid Type B"

It is a sticky tape meant for vinyl repair!
Its air tight, goes on easy, and makes a perfect seal everytime!

Soooo how im using it...
-Clean bunker (degrease, clean as possible)
-Cut Tear-Aid Type B to be about 1/2" bigger than hole.
-Peel, stick, add pressure

Then....
I use HH66 Vinyl Cement to glue a standard patch onto the bunker.
-Cut patch about 1" bigger than Tear-Aid Type B
-Apply HH66 to both patch and bunker
-Let sit for 5-10 min until tacky
-Press patch onto bunker, flatter the better
-Add a little more HH66 around the patch to prevent it from peeling off

Notes:
Cleaner the bunker the better
Cut Vinyl patch into a round shape, they dont peel off as easy!
If you have a BIG hole, I put a piece of vinyl on the sticky side of the Tear-Aid to prevent it from trying to stick to the other side of the bunker

Tear-Aid is $2 for a 3x8" sheet at andy and bax (army surplus, rafting, outdoor store)
you can buy it by the roll (about a $100 i believe)

Make sure its Type B.

I'm really hoping this didn't happen with mine. Its still too wet up here to play in the back yard.

Tell me why I had to be a powerslave.
I don't wanna die, I'm a god, why can't I live on?
When the Life Giver dies, all around is laid waste.
And in my last hour,
I'm a slave to the power of death.
