The last video I put up here was from Paintball Country in West Chester Ohio. That was at the Transformers scenario in honor of Bob Niederman who passed away recently from Cancer. It was for a good cause, so I left my private field and headed over to PAY to play paintball for the first time... If the video is labeled "Trails of Doom" then that is my private field behind my house, we have about 30 acres that we play on which is perfect for paintball. Lots of big trees, huge hills, and no matter which way you go, you will cross a creek to get to the other camp. (we have about 4 creeks on the property). I open it up to my friends and customers who know me from my business dealings. Some guys play golf, with their customers... Not me, I shoot my customers and put it on youtube! lol. We play monthly in the fall, winter, and spring, but I am very picky about who I let play, as it is a honor field, no refs, and our rules are set up to lessen overshooting. We play if you are hit, you are out, regardless of paint breaking. As many guys don't have the money to buy better paint, so we don't want them peppering players with tons of paint just to get one to finally break! I have guys that come down from Columbus, and up from Lexington, as our events are very fun, and are great to help guys stay in shape, as it is a workout going from one camp to the other! We start very early in the morning and play until about 12:30 or 1:00pm. So the guys that play from far away usually stay at someones house the night before, as we start chronoing the guns at 8:30am... We are on the field playing by 9:15am. I have walked out in the morning to start the fires at the camps and found guys sleeping in my driveway in their cars... lol. |

It was your trails videos that I viewed thusfar. Some of those shots were crazy good. For a good field and good company, travel is a small price to pay. I hope to get back on the field soon, since I have had one gun in the shop (PB Sports, Fort Wayne, IN) for 3 weeks now, another is an a-5 'project' b-5 conversion and the last one (nice etek) that I am looking to sell while it's still in mint to fund the project. I always bring my 14yr old w/me - I started at that age when my dad bought me my first gun.. an sl-68. I feel old now.

Why fall/winter/spring only? Well, almost all of my players are dads like me. We are super busy with our kids during this time of year and the summer. Besides, once the leaves come out at my field it is too hard to see any distance at all. And our field is too big to try and play close quarters combat, we have tried it before, but you would play an entire game and walk the whole time, and never see another player from the other team!... Or if you did, you would be so close by the time you saw them that it just wasn't safe. If the leaves haven't come out yet, you can see across the field which really keeps the games going fast paced. Most of our games are under 10 minutes total. As you can see from my videos, many are around 5 minutes. Which is perfect, cause I get shot out first often, and I HATE sitting around waiting for the next game to start! lol. Plus the bugs get crazy in the summer... and I'm just too busy to schedule and host an event then. If I want to play in the summer, I just head over to paintball junkeez. Last year I never got time to head over there... Trails of Doom is a private field in my backyard, near Oxford Ohio. We have a facebook page that shows our location on a map. It is invite only, you gotta know me or one of the other players to get in. We have a core group of friends that make it an amazing place to play... No refs, no wiping, no cheating... We play if you are hit you are out, regardless of breaks, so it isn't like a public field. I wish I could open it up to the public, but I have to keep it friends only to work with my insurance policy... |
