Well I'm sure there will be many more copy cat tournies like this. Finally someone has made a "certain type only marker". What would make this better,is the company supplying the markers. Then it would be an even playing field,no modifications or all the latest gadgets. This is great that they are doing this. I hope alot of other companies follow this example.
Later,

What about the Spyder cup from years back, I could have swore you were required to use Kingman Spyders only.

If you read the description, it says Tippmann markers only, other than no full auto, any mode of shooting is allowed.

Does this mean that mods to the guns are allowed? I'm not attending the event, but wouldn't it be slick to see either a bunch of PA SL68s or since the SL has a ~1" bore for the valve bodies to just stuff a x-valve inside there and screw with avaryones mind?

What's the big deal about a "Tippmann Only" event when there are Tippmanns that can easily, reliably shoot 20-25bps? I see nothing nostalgic or special about this event.

Mechanical, non-assisted event? Okay then I'm game. But any tippmann with any mode "as long as it's not full auto" does nothing for me. Sorry. Especially not when it's an $800/team ticket against kids who use dad's credit card to buy up as much paint as they can toss at that 25bps range.

I do hope that the winning is a completely mechanical, even having a couple SL's on the team.

Ill be playing this event with a hybrid team of Naughty Leprechaun players (PSP team) and East Coast Anarchy guys.. Granted ECA guys are coming from all walks of paintball Nppl , rec, GPL Series..

We actually already have the money to register but we have yet to choose a name for the team to register under hehe....

Needless to say.. Ill have something custom built for this event.. Ive been tinkering in the shop with some spare 98 bodies

I don't think I'd like that game. Those e-gripped 98's and a-5's scare me! Seriously. I think people with those tend to fill the air with more paint then the speedball players.

I wonder if you could get CO2 fills there... and I the person at the fill station would understand the rattle in the tank...

I remember the last year of the Spyder cup allowed for a team to use electro grips, but only those that Kingman made (no centerflag).
