when funds come in from my paycheck for Xmas season paypal will be making a hefty donation lol. I myself was premature. Thank God for Canadian health care or my parents would be in debt up to their eyeballs to this day. I have a soft spot in my heart for premies and their parents due to this. I hope the little guy comes home soon both for his parents bonding experience and for the sake of their bank accounts (trying to inject a little humor into an otherwise glib situation) |

Brian brought his son home from ICU yesterday... A very happy day. Robert's not out of the woods yet, but it is a very good step.

Welcome Home Robert! Donation sent. I live in Canada so I don't really understand how this works down there. What happens if MOATI simply refuses to pay the bill... do they cut the child off of life support and chuck him out the door? When my 2nd son was born he required intensive medical support in ICU and again when he was three months old (with blood O2 sat levels down in the 50% range). Thank god for universal health care!!! Costs were covered by Medicare... no crippling debt... no additional stressers for the family to contend with so we could be there for my son.. no worry that he would be denied services based on a means test... what is going on down south? I don't get it. |
