Don't get me wrong...I love my Mags and would sell my SOUL [again ] for an ETac right ow...but come on...big-ol board AND that battery? It's as if Tom was more interested in flexing his intellectual engineering prowess than actually making something for the average paintballer to use...

I talked with one of my warehouse reps, he met up with the SP brothers at a convention recently, since they have known each other a long time, according to him... SP is going to be back up and running soon. Technically already is up and running just not 100%.

The issue was that they had loans through the bank, they NEVER missed a payment for the loans, however, the bank was not doing well financially and got cold feet because of the amount of credit they had used. So, someone at the bank called in the bank notes and wanted the entire loan repayed in full. Since they didnt have 800K plus of cash lying around, they closed down to restructure. Most of the money is in their CNC machines, which did cost them over a million dollars total since they first started investing. They met with the bank and the person who pulled the bank notes was "released" from the bank for making other bad decisions that hurt other businesses while SP was given access to begin running again, because how else can they pay back the money unless they earn money? GI MIlsim was supposed to handle the 50cal stuff and cater towards military contracts but has been blown into something MUCH bigger since the financial problem at SP. Just what I heard... my guy has never lied to me so I believe what he said is true, as in.. it is what was told to him.

As a guy that works in a paintball store that is a Smart Parts dealer, this sounds good. We do sell alot of SP stuff and it is nice to have some support for thier products.
Personally I do take anything that I don't hear directly from the company directly with a grain of salt. (nothing personal) If they are going to get everything back and running good for them.

That's pretty much spot on. However the news of the bank rep being released was news to me.

That part is accurate, as is the rest of the content in that post.

Contrary to what alot of people who for whatever reason dislike SP think, this is actually a good thing for Paintball.
