I don't really see how that's a major issue just based on the design. You've got a vertical 12ie, so a liquid rush is probably only a likelihood on a first shot if you're drawing from an upright holster or shooting gangsta style..if the liquid even makes it from the cart through the check valve in the mag into the regulator without expanding. You then need to have a regulator fail for whatever reason so your over-pressurized gas gets in the volume chamber behind the bolt in the first place. The relief valve is located behind the volume chamber, and only blows if that is overpressurized...i.e. your next shot would be hot. So you've got to a) get an overpressure cycle started with liquid or something and b) have a regulator failure before you even get to that point.

For comparison, you've got the STBB style pistols with a horizontal cartridge dumping directly into an unregulated valve. If anything could use an overpressure relief, it would be that style.

"I've been told" and "stuff I read in the other thread" are a little different. They're like Automags, not Autocockers. I suggest you might want to go look at an animation and understand how a T8 works before posting again..there's already enough confusion around here. It's pretty straightforward how the relief valve is designed to function.

There are a lot of people throwing opinions and speculations around here (myself included). Let's all just wait until Monday and see what Eric has to say. You know what happens when you assume!

and I think I mentioned the danger almost a month ago in the "big thread" as soon as it was pointed out the difference in safety vents. Even when the T8 patent was leaked 5-6 years ago, I think I mentioned "how will they control the liquid co2 when holstered" on the Tinkers guild

Automags all have a spike problem, inherent to the spool-valve with co2. However, it was largely controlled by -NOT- using a CO2 backbottle...
A vert tank, with about 5 feet of coiled braided line seemed to help greatly.

The T8/SA8 has the same issue as it has the same valve. The T8 solves that with a vent, but that vent has to be adjusted. The SA8 vent only serves to protect the gun.

So no more dangerous then an automag, but automags do have a spike issue, so its not really the best example.
