Besides being First Strike ready right out of the box, the gun itself is much easier to maintain.

Modern Intel has a great video review on the 8.1 and somewhere on that site is a comparison between the 8.1 and the 8.

waaaaay lighter, but thats just because of the mags. an old T8 can use the new mags too
