That much I know, I just was just trying to get about asking why mostpeople would insist it should be but in a polite way.
Oh well.
But yea, there is absolutely no practical reason as to why it would need to be tested to anywhere near 4500 psi.

I think the confusion may be in the thought that "but, my carbon Fiber HPA tank is 4500 psi" - doesn't matter, the output pressure on the regulator is likely in the 800 psi range.

In order to need a pressure rating of 4.5k you'd need to have a) an (over) full bottle at or above 4500 psi b) failure of the bottle regulator c) failure of (both) bottle burst disk(s)...so basically at that point wants your *** dead anyway.

And the gun is probably going to grenade in your hands/face even if the fitting can handle 4500 PSI.

I put 3000psi into my AutoMag once straight from my scuba... and run it at 1200psi (modified tank reg) all the time. It runs thru macro line. I think I was very lucky with the scuba tank experiment (no line pop) but the line seems to have no issue holding the output pressure of 1200psi. I know I know...LOL... I MUST find that braided line again... somewhere in the shop... someplace... I hope. When macro line blows it just pops real loud. Not a big deal. Super high pressure into a marker that has no reg built in might be bad though... LOL.

And you are lucky that the macro line didn't grenade on you. Most new macro line is thin compared to the stuff from the late 90's that you could run straight CO2 through.. I wouldn't ever try it on the new stuff though.

or you could just buy a myth reg and have it blow up on you.

IIRC isn't the WP should be rated for about 1000 psi and at MINIMUM the burst pressure should be double it. I know parker uses a 4:1 saftey ratio for all of their products. so if it had a WP of 1000psi the Burst pressure would put it up at around 4000psi. But I do believe it is just a mis-communication.
