The Boston Police will no longer be allowed to use the FN303 pepperball guns and now they're waiting to be turned into sewer caps...

Ehh...

If they were shot out of a compressed air gun at high velocity and called less lethal then maybe they would be banned too.

I think this is a good decision. Those things are wicked and clearly they didn't provide proper training to go along with them.

So does this mean I can riot in Boston now? I mean I guess since they aren't going to use Less Lethal weapons I have no reason not to riot.

This whole situation is silly. Those people should have known better than to riot in the presence of police with Less Lethal weapons. When you enter into a riot situation, the possibility of you getting injured or killed is your own problem, not the problem of law enforcement.

Don't blame the officers, or their weapons. Blame the idiot boston fans who should have known this would happen.

Well lets take a step back and look at what else Boston has been in the news for lately; I think its safe to say that something is not working right in their government...

I can't believe that the family is getting away with sue-ing the company that manufactures those launchers.... Shame they are just gonna melt them down - they could be sold to other PD's or used for crowd control by MP somewhere.

On a side note... I never understood WHY people would start riots when their favorite team just WON a game... just doesn't make sense.

In this case, the problem is DIRECTLY at the police supervisors.

The police did not have the training they were supposed to have. I don't blame the police directly. They simple used what they knew, and treated them like they were firarms.

To say it was the girls own fault for dying is a bit extreme. Apparently, she wasnt one of the rioters.

A few departments in maine use the Tippmann versions, and have not had any problems. Though, they have also had the proper training.

Of course the rioters are to blame, just as someone who steals a car or robs a bank is to blame for what they do. The police still don't have the right to fire blindly at whom they please.

This has been beaten to death here at MCB at least twice before, i'm not going to get into it again, other than to say, sometimes when something bad happens, No one was right.

So what... the only reason you avoid rioting is the use by the cops of less than lethal control devices? Really?!?

I am sure that clever law enforcement agents can probably come up with something to discourage your inherant riotous tendencies if you must feel that restraint.

I seem to recall that the Beantown Popos were pretty proficient with the firehoses in years past...

Heck, at the Boston Massacre riot, they "cops" used musket balls!

Until then... just keep telling yourself "I'm not gonna riot... I'm not gonna riot" and maybe that will keep you out of trouble until the cops find a replacement for their pepper balls.

Hang in there.
