Price increase for ION's

Well I know this does not really effect us here on MCB, however it looks like SP is about to raise prices on their ION's, I recieved this tad bit of info from a retailer I do business with on occasion.

"Due to the high demand of Ions, SP's is forced to raise their prices from the standard $199 for a stock Ion to $225 to meet demands"

All I can think to myself is damn...dont they have enough money as it is??

Chaos has been saying this to me for a while now. I don't know.... Seems like the market is flooded with them now. I don't see it as a demand issue. But more of a: "We're screwing ourselves out of the market place" issue.

Just look on ebay. They're for sale everywhere, and stock used ones are $150

Kind of tough to sell your $800 electro when most of the kids are just happy with that one?

Interesting none-the-less.

Uh, so they raise prices to meed demands? So now they know they have you by the balls and if you want one they know they can get that extra bit out of your wallet because they can. Thats just peachy.

Didn't plan on buying an Ion to begin with, now I definitely won't.

Gives the VS series spyders a chance to compete as well. Same performance, same lousy stock trigger, easier to clean ;-)

I am sure all other manufacturers are cheering about the news. Personally, I don't care one bit. I think they were flooding the market at low margins to destroy most everyone else anyway.

I wonder if Smart Parts is making a profit at $225 or just reducing their losses. Personally, I would never own a Ion.

I really do not see the point of buying a new one. There are tons of old ones out there.
