Overpriced crap. The Pants seem to be the only item that someone designed specifically for woodsball. Rest is copied from someone else. They do look nice though.

Devious Penguin Mod
There's this perceived notion in the top levels that people want more of these tac vests, but for that much, you can get a used Blackhawk molle LBV or similar and probably have a better quality product. They also assume that everyone wants to wear something like that.
I'd really like a pair of pants that's made not to get beat up by sticks and rocks, without a bunch of molded features that collect a ton of dirt and make them hard to clean, but still have padding for bounce and thump. Or a pair of I4's with more jaw protection because in any type of wooded field play people can get in behind you. These things would be useful for 10 man.
If Dye wanted to sell us something, they could, they just choose not to invest the time into the market to match the money, and so what motivation does anyone have to switch? Kee is doing the same thing with the Invert stuff. Valken has a line, but all their stuff is kinda eh. Why does stuff primarily geared toward the rec player, (because I'm assuming the vast majority of paintball player don't play UWL TTPL or SPPL any more than those who play PSP or NPPL) not reflect the needs and desires of the rec player?
Or say that Dye wanted to go after that competitive 10 man market I mentioned, why don't they design things that work for 10 man? I'd buy something really well suited, like maybe some pants with padded kevlar on the sides of the thighs and shins as well as the knee. I don't wear a vest, but how about an Xball style collapsible pack with a tougher outer surface, so I can stick tight in my bunker but not have to sacrifice durability?
The rec market just ends up being a series of products that are simply par, because the industry doesn't respect the rec player's capability to estimate quality. The result? Rec players see that the equipment is lesser quality, and wear tourney stuff. The tourney stuff doesn't last as long cause it's not made for the woods. Dye seems to be having the same denial as the rest of paintball about where it's largest market is.
