ok. I wasn't sure how it went. you could always fill the feedneck holes in with bondo, but if it angles there its prob to help the balls roll, which you need

I think it's so that they could move the hopper further back and get better balance.

ahh yah. I'll prob get one no matter what, and just look to see if the feedneck cutting would work. It looks decent w/the feedneck as is. the ASA is the only thing that really bothers me, that's why I said i'd beef it up with bondo/JB weld etc.

I often think about what the new player needs to not become frustrated early. So this marker continues to be on my mind.

It's the reliable 98 style internals, no external hoses. Compared to many other paintball starter packages at big box stores this isn't bad at all.

Most of us here on MCB have gotten "that" call before. This might be a good thing to suggest. You get a call from a distant relative or a co-worker you aren't supper close with asking what to buy as they are on the way to a field to play paintball and stopped at a big box store. They called you because they overheard you've played a few times before.

Now if I get that call I can suggest this or the Carver One...

Like others, I looked down on this at first simply because it wasn't what I was hoping for... a cheap center feed mechanical Tippmann with Phenom internals. I wasn't looking at it for it's actual purpose. For people like us ... we wanted the Phenom internals in a non-milsim or non-cyclone feed body. We already had a slew of inline blowback markers to recommend. But this really will serve a new segment... People who want a starter paintball marker that doesn't remotely resemble a firearm. For those people we no longer need to hand them sloppy stacked tube blowbacks.

It's obviously some Chinese Taiwanese design they bought out or partnered with.
