I believe NXe packs are chinese made. My first pack was good lasted about 3 years will a fair amount of use. Unfortunately it was probably landfill material after about 2 seasons though. I wanted a larger pack. I went up to the 5+4 over the 4+3. The quality was not there. It's not really that well constructed. The velco is falling apart and the elastic is not responding all that well either. The NXe vest I had was much better. However, I could not get comfortable in it. It was not my taste when it came to a vest.

So I am not holding my breath for an American product. The last good American pack was Unique before NPS buyout. Rose knew how to make a good pack that would last. The Tippmann pack will probably be a relabel.

NOT TRUE. Hold your breath no more

You want an AMAZING USA made quality product call up Top Stitch and I know they still make their M pack/ have some laying around (they are doing a lot more pump stuff now), I'm sure they'd still make one up for you (they love doing custom stuff). They were the first ones to do the vertical pod design. I've owned mine for almost 10 years now. A stitch came loose last year (the first one), I took it in to them (live bout 15 min away now ) and they took it back into the shop, double stitched the seem all in less than 1 minute of me coming in the door.

Not my packs but here is a few shots of their packs.

Top Stitch = PB Mafia (For those who missed that)

Anyway, I just wanted to put a shout out to Tippmann as a company with great customer service. This week I called to order a new cup seal for a R/T piston on my loaner A-5. The old one ripped after the last owner f-ed with it. I told the Tippmann gun tech (who answered the phone right away) about the issue...and noted I am NOT the original owner of the gun. His response?

"Hmm...that doesn't usually break. We'll send you a new one. Anything else I can do to help you?" No postage fee, no PART fee. And three days later an ENTIRE piston assembly with the cup seal on it showed up.

The call after that one was to Dye for a new set of shim washers for a Hyper II reg. Less material than the Dye part, but they charged me $9 AND shipping.

As for NXe, I have two NXe packs, two sets of NXe kneepads, and two sets of NXe elbow pads. All three products have served me for over two years and clean up nearly as nice today as they were at time of purchase. Indeed the second set of everything was to have backups and most of that stuff is not used...I'm still running on the first set. I can't speak to recent issues with their stuff, tho...

Bottomline, Tippmann is a great firm to have running QA and customer support for any brand. If the fundamental design is high speed...as I believe it is in the case of NXe, I'd be optimistic that this development will be a win win for everybody.

My only recommendation to Tippmann would be to retain the NXe brand since, as others have noted, it does appeal to a slightly different market segment and NXe's brand does have valuable equity in its own right! Good luck!

PB mafia is American made, along with APP. You're getting quality products while supporting the US economy by keeping it here. Tippmann seems to have forgotten that.

I, too, still have my M-Pack from 1999, it's a 4 Horiz. Richard made great stuff.

When Tippmann sold out, they handed it over to a Consumer Products group, not paintball guys. They couldn't manufacture in the US on a scale that would be competitive on a much larger scale. They got their big-box footprint and with all of the hoops they had to jump through, making them in the US was a losing proposition.

G, I think it's a matter of looking and finding someone or a company who makes them in large production in the USA. Most groups simply look at the bottom line price, don't care where it comes from and problem solved.

If a company would actually take the time and effort to do the research + find a company in the US who could do the work, then it would work.

That would be nice if it would actually come out. It's only what, 2, 3, 4 years behind schedule at this point?

As pointed out, NXe isn't exclusively a paintball company. I believe they are HQ'd in Scottsdale, AZ, is that going to remain for non-pb stuff, or is everything moving?

I have several NXe packs and they are really, really tough. My giant NXe gear bag, on the other hand broke itīs handle on the very first day.

Now speaking about the news itself, I hope Tippmann releases some new gear or, at least, some new patterns for the packs. NXe doens't do anything really new since 2007 IIRC.
