Ninja,

Don't change your program. I'd rather have a down facing gauge and a 90 degree nip.
If the gauge is straight down, and the nipple straight up, then you can shoot with either hand without the nipple digging into your wrist.. also keeps dirt out of the nipple.

The only way to stay ahead of the rest is to continuously better your self, and stay fresh.
Glad to see Ninja taking advantage of this idea lol.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...
tlane77 He's got a woody for your woods.

Now if this came with a stainless bonnet they'd really have something. Until then I'll be very gentle with the thread of my ninja 13 ci to prevent further galling, and be looking for an SIS to replace me new style (aka recalled) PMI reg. Not bashing ninja in anyway, loke the regs just wish they came with SS bonnets.

Oh and mike, I just looked at my 3000 psi ninja reg, the gauge and fill nipple are at 90* from each other and the hp burst disk is directly across from the gauge. All 3 of those ports are connected to the same air so if yours is mixed around a little time with a wrench and teflon tape will get you to having your gauge in fill nipple in the right relations.

we looked at stainless steel but it is very expensive and hard to machine. That's why we use both a brass or an aluminum bonnet. brass is very durable and lasts much longer then the aluminum.

as far as moving the gauge and fill nipple you can change their position with each other but not the burst disks. The bust disks pockets are a different thread then the fill nipple and the gauge.

Why do you prefer stainless steel? I thought SS had galling problems as well.

What?!?! If the nipple is facing straight up, then the nipple will dig into both wrists equally.

Maybe your guys' setups are too short?

Really!? Usually it hides nicely in-line with the grip frame, so unless you're shooting crosshanded out the left side of your bunker, it's an ideal spot.

Don't bother looking for SS- I haven't seen an SS bonnet in a while, unless I'm mistaken. Most are shiny-plated brass AFAIK. Stainless is a pain to machine, burrs up a lot (compared to brass), increases costs quickly, and isn't much more durable. The brass really is the ideal option and I don't see a reason to want anything else.

Ninja, maybe some nickel-plating or chrome-plating could satisfy those wanting something shiny? Most of us are quite content with brass, though- let's face it, the only thing missing on these regs is a walnut stock, as far as MCB is concerned.

Brass is not as durable and it will gall easier. I work with tanks of a larger scale and it is illegal for us to put brass straight in a tank because of this. I'm not saying anyone should retool and raise the cost of their product. I have never had any problems with brass myself in pb just wanted to give me 2 cents.

The short lived max flo sis had a stainless bonnet, and my new style pmi Reg supposedly has a chrome moly one. The thing I don't like about brass bonnets is that they dent especially near the oring when you drop them.
