SA-17 Paintball Marker Recall Information

Through continued testing of the SA-17 marker, our Quality Control Department has identified a potential issue. The problem is described as:
A CO2 cartridge may fly out of the marker and impact a user, if contact occurs with the face, eye, or head, creating potential injury if the user had disregarded the instructions in the manual and is not wearing approved paintball safety protection equipment when operating the product.

Through the course of normal operation, the chance of this occurrence is very slim and is not an issue if the user follows the instructions in the manual and wears a paintball mask when inserting the 12-gram CO2 cartridges. KEE Action Sports is taking this risk very seriously and has contacted the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to assist us in taking corrective action. The CPSC is a US government agency charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from consumer products

Please note that there have been no reported cases of this issue having occurred nor any injuries reported. KEE is taking these pro-active measures to ensure the safety of players and stand behind our products 100%.

is it just me or did the delta .68 and the other stbb semis have this problem?

I've had this happen with my KP2... It had too much air left in the cartridge and i pulled the rod out and it flew around... Pretty scary...

Anyways, stay safe SA-17 owners :D

Ill shamlessly say half the fun is launching half full 12 grams haha.

If I do that on my Kp2 half way into the shoots I can launch one like a rocket launcher.

Nice that they're proactive about it.

so the SA-17 in question only have one retainer clip? i got an SA-17 a coupe of weeks ago from an online retailer and it has two retainer clips in already. one is slightly a tighter fit around the 12gram. i'm just trying to figure this out because at the moment i am trying to sell it and do not want to sell to anyone if this need to be fixed.

edit: nvm. i'm contacting kee for the replacement parts now.

Scary? I do it on purpose because it's fun. It's best done by leaving the cap off and shooting the priming shot while pointed in a safe direction.

i had a ninja dave lever changer on the back of my phantom

the chrono guy released it when it was a new 12gm and it literally shot across the room, hit the co2 fill station and made the loudness "gong" ever

it was sooo funny yet scary!

Well, now the truth comes out about why they've had mine for 2 freaking months when all I wanted was a new pierce assembly...

And here's what really burns my ***- I had weakened the original clips ON PURPOSE because getting spent 12ies out of there took so damn long it was a serious liability during play. Now these new clips look like it makes the process even longer than it originally was. All so some paste-eater who can't follow simple instructions like "Don't pull the lever all the way open with a full 12g inside" doesn't hurt himself.
