I guess this would explain the "flatshot" effect that everyone keeps talking about.
...I also heard that warlocks were stolen from AKA

Putting the J12 in the hands of those who have so much experience in paintball like you and many who visit this thread is important. These are people who are more likely to take a preventative approach by taking notice of every little detail during pump play. For example, they will notice a binding stroke, investigate on their own and take corrective action before continuing play.

Likewise, CCM found it equally important to put it in the hands of people who don't play, have limited experience with pump play or are making the transition. These are individuals who are less likely to recognize if something is not right, continue on playing, and would be instrumental in revealing "wear marks" for CCM to assess that would lead to changes in their production models for all of us to benefit.

To answer your question. CCM admits that the current pump markers and models that customers enjoy are so similar in function yet packaged differently. But development and design of the J12 is very different. From the all metal, new trigger design that incorporates hardened brass, stainless steel, aluminum and spring to the over-sized hammer, brass valve - all enclosed in a cartridge, to the pump arm and bolt that operates independently from hammer in the lower tube - the differences are noticeable. The increased volume of air surrounding the valve and lengthened valve "cartridge" allows a player the option to take their hand off of the pump handle, get a quiet shot off, have no farting, all with very little drop in fps. A player can sneak a quite shot off whether playing front at the 50 in speed ball or playing woods ball.

I wish I was more knowledgeable to share what other marker design the internal mechanism of the J12 reminded me of the most but sadly I am one of those with limited experience in that area. The lower tube looks weird, the IVG is in the hammer, the auto trigger is smooth and independent from the pump arm, while the hammer looks like a bird with one wing. Bottom line, it is so functional.

Aloha,

M
Different isn't better. I look forward to a detailed view of the internals.

mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

I would say CCM's track record at both refining existing designs AND innovating new ones is...at the very worst...above average. About the only thing I can say they haven't hit out of the ballpark are those finicky fittings...

If a company is going to bring a new product to market, I would say the folks at CCM are--more than anyone else I can think of--going to bring it out right the first time.

I hear you loud and clear, and yet for some players, if the difference is for reasons such as quality, customer service, not having to worry about timing, ease of cleaning, not worrying about material from the outside getting inside the marker - the J12 might be their choice.

On the other hand, there are many that continue to enjoy tweaking or adjusting their marker. Some may even come to the conclusion that the slightly harder pump stroke of the J12, the looks, or cost is not enough to sway them away from the marker they already have.

The decision not to buy a J12 for whatever reason is still a good choice for that person for that moment. But the J12 is one to seriously consider if it meets your standards and budget now (Still no word on what it will cost).

The only things i saw inside of it that were truly different were for the better. They may not be as simple as an old Slider frame but the changes i saw were all for the better, and still very simple and user friendly. The J12 is different where it needs to be and the same where it should be, it is like the 5th Element, perfect.

will it mean then that since the j12 is perfect, that there will be no need to continue making more guns? That can't be perfect
