Been thinking about this today as well.

I, personally, don't care about looks. With a few tweaks of the milling run - it can look different.

In fact, I am disturbed by how people judge the marker (especially a prototype) on its looks.

I don't care how long the reg is? How long the reg is almost completely built on the concept of what a marker 'should' look like - which is built on what the have looked like in the past.

CCM is innovating. They are changing things -and some are bitching that the reg isn't long enough? That is doesn't 'look' right?

We have lived in a world for too long where we had two or three real choices to choose from in the pump world. While the electro's had dozens of different markers to compete with, with dozens of different valve, reg, and other configurations - we were stuck with about three types of markers (Snipers, Nelson's, and Sheridans).

CCM has decided to take their balls in their hands and try to give us something that, in my mind, appears different. This is from company that can actually make a marker with some real volume. This isn't a 100 marker a year run operation.

Therefore I REALLY don't get the judgment of a marker based almost solely on how it looks.

I have no idea how this marker runs - but if it is lighter, pumps smoother, has a valve that allows for a more efficient operation, has a valve train that allows for a softer pump stroke - THIS is what we should be embracing.

On my own thought - I care if I can kill with it and do so in a more efficient manner than the last incarnation of the weapon I used.

I don't care how long the reg is - does it recharge properly and can I service it?

I don't care about the half block - does it work when I need it to?

I don't care about the valve - does it work - and can I service it easily when it does not?

All the rest simply aesthetics - and frankly those can be changed with fewer tweaks to the machining than efficiency, smoothness, consistency, and amiability. Form, in my mind, should follow function - and if the marker is functioning - I care very little about the form.

Some of us like a full-length reg to hold onto, especially with a 'hitman' rod on the pump.

This I can hear - and it makes sense.

All I was hearing was that it wasn't 'flowing' - just didn't make any sense function wise. This does.

Thanks for the enlightenment and I edited back my some of my post above to take this into consideration.

Wait... was this just some way for you to get to say that you like to 'hold on to something full length'?

Should I have answered: That is what she said!?

Well if the reg stuck straight out the back, I would hold it that way with my Flex-7 mask. I'd use 2 hands to pump it.
