New RAP pistol, Desert Eagle

RAP announces new pistol. The only downfall I can see, as with all RAP guns (not including the .68cal T68 series) is the .43 cal paint. No casings that are required in the RAP rifles (Rap4, Rap5, Rap47) and is blow back (slide recocks after every shot). Also the slide locks back after the last shot to save CO2 and let you know to change th mag. Retail price is set at $279.00, but I forsee a presale price drop, check the dealers section of the BST's here on MCB in about three weeks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Real Action Paintball is proud to announce the release of the latest training tool to law enforcement, and the coolest new paint pistol for your game: the Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol. The Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol is designed to replicate the look, feel, and functionality of the real Desert Eagle.

The Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol functions like a real handgun, with strong blowback action. It is powered by a refillable, internal, built-in CO2 reservoir inside the handgrip which can shoot 30 rounds of .43 caliber paintballs per fill. A Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol EX version that uses a 12g disposable CO2 cylinder inside the handgrip is also available, capable of shooting 50 shots per cylinder, giving you the option that’s right for your budget and tastes.

The Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol holds up to 10 paintballs in a magazine, and the magazine is inserted into the handgrip. It does not eject shell casings, as none are needed: just paint and air. Like a real handgun, the Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol stops shooting when you run out of ammunition. Like all quality paintball markers, the velocity is adjustable, with top-end performance at 250fps to 300fps. The effective range of the Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol is 20m (65ft), and the maximum range is 50m (160ft).

Do you like electronic sights, lasers, flashlights, and all the cool tactical gear that interfaces with Weaver mounts? The Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol features twin Weaver-style rails, one on top and one under the barrel, to interface with cool accessories. Train like you’ll fight, with tactical flashlights; add a new dimension to your CQB scenario gaming with a laser. It can happen with the Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol.

The Desert Eagle Paintball Pistol will be available in September 2007. We are currently taking pre-orders, which will be shipped out in September.

Wow, I mean that is SWEET. Besides the obvious downfalls I think I might actually like this enough to try one out. MIGHT. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that "sale".

Any possibiity of an official review sometime in the *near* future?

Oh my...pretty!

I may just order one of these. Refillable Co2 as well, does it fill like a regular tank?

Interesting...but I don't know of any LE agencies that use Desert Eagles. Although, I could be mistaken. Most still are deeply entrenched in Sigs, Glocks, and S&W. The SIG 226 clone they've already released makes more sense for training.

Haha but an Desert Eagle is the only pistol I know of besides the classic S&W mags that have a 100% lethality rate while unloaded. You pull it out and either they drop dead of a heart attack or you can throw it at them and the blunt trauma will kill them.

When there's enough light coming down the barrel for you to see the tip of the bullet, you consider your options lol.

Honestly .50's have but one purpose, the rounds cost. A lot. You take one of these to the range and shoot less than a quarter of the rounds that you could afford by shooting 9x19. Those of us who love unconventional arms think they are cool, and rightfully so, but they have to fully expect and hope that the interest of an enthusiast will make him forget the price of pulling the trigger in dollars and cents.

I wonder if someone sells slides that look like that for the real thing. And I thought it was only sposta hold 7.... ;-)

[QFD] Do not, I repeat, DO NOT read any handgun magazines or any magazines related to guns. These rags thrive on making people feel outgunned and underarmed and if you read any of them, before long you will be trying to figure out how to conceal a .44 magnum under a t-shirt and shorts without ramming it up your ***. Ive never been attracted to the DE .50

It isnt very reliable and it is just a monstrosity.

Wasnt it designed to some kind of target shooting?

I think a .375 DE would be O.K. and even pretty cool, definately not my favorite though.

I thought it was an anti material (planes, helicopters, jeeps) pistol. You know, like in video games when your pistol takes down the Blackhawk and all the n00bs in it.

Actually, IIRC, it was developed to be able to have a handheld platform for shooting vehicles, expecially helicopters.

More "magic bb" theory if you ask me. Only movie stars shoot down helicopters and blow up cars with handguns.

EDIT: Just recieved new info on the filling procedures.

It has a small reservoir, and it is filled by screwing an adapter onto your tank, then screwing the end of the adapter to the bottom of the gun. Turn tank upside down, open quarter turn valve on adapter for about 5 seconds (to allow for liquid to flow into gun and pressures to stabilize).
