ANSgear.com, DYE Rotor price increase

Quote:
Dye Rotor Price Increase - June 23rd

The Dye Rotor is one of the best performing and most sought after loaders in paintball. As manufacturing and raw material prices increase, some of your favorite paintball gear prices will raise. Now is your last chance to buy the Dye Rotor for only $159.95 or $169.95 (for patterns). Starting June 23rd, all Dye Rotors being sold online will have a new retail price of either $189.95-$199.95. Order yours today at ANSgear and save almost 20%.
I just saw this email and was a little shocked at how much they actually cost retail, since I've not looked for a loader for a long time. I'm even more shocked that they are going to cost $190 in another few days. I guess if you were looking for one of these new, now's the time to pick one up.

I had to get a little perspective, so I went to the Empire section to check on the retail price of a new Prophecy, $119, which is actually a fair amount less than I was expecting.

I honestly had no idea there was such a huge gap between these two competitors.

Didn't used to be such a huge gap ... Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but this is the 2nd price jump the Rotor has taken.

Dye overprices everything. The Rotors are good, but I'd rather pay $80 and get an Invert Too.

I knew that they charge a name premium on their markers, but dang. I got my Halo TOO for $55 used shortly after they came out, love it (but haven't used it for a long time, no electro).

Since getting my rotor and adding the Virtue Rotor Soft Cycle Arm it has performed much better than my reloader b. Without the Soft Cycle Arm, it will jam just as much as the Halo (which isn't too often).

I do have to say this about the rotor. While I was in tournament play, there were a few times where my rotor jammed. However, due to the design, I could just rip off the top, clear the jam with my finger and reassemble all within 1-2 seconds.

I am not sure I would pay $199 for a new rotors. I would buy the invert halo as well. But since I only paid $100 for my rotor + 24 for soft cycle arm. I am happy with it.

This makes me even more happy that the only thing I paid for my rotor was a set of freak inserts...
