I would say stock + cheater boards would be more accurate in regards to pro teams and Shockers. That's just nit picking though.

I agree on the functioning on the joystick. It was a pain at times to use the button to select modes on my stock Mini. It wasn't as bad with the APE board but again, nit picking. The joystick seems way more convenient.

I'd much rather see the paintball business model return to being more custom-oriented than every marker being fully loaded right out of the box.
Actually, I can remember buying my Minimag new. I upgraded it with a Smart Parts barrel (Used), an expansion chamber, and an ASA. For what I spent, I could have bought a brand new Smart Parts Automag for the same amount of money. Selling something that can be customized and something that has all of the bells and whistles are good ideas. I am sure that in time, say around Cup, there will be the Axe Pro (Or whatever they call it) that will have this installed right off the bat for like $150-180 more than a standard Axe. Maybe in different colors as well.

Sell an Axe/Mini and an Axe/Mini Pro. Easily marketable.
That's an excellent idea.

Milling makes the price reasonable? Why do people with more money than brains feel the need to justify prices? Seriously, would you be willing to pay $20,000 for aftermarket rims?

I guess I'm just hating.
I guess my point was more, a nice board by itself is going to cost $180. If you add the additional metal for the new foregrip, it could cost more. I am with you though, I still think it is too much.

And you said, "your trendy skinny 'man' jeans," after quoting me. I hope you weren't talking about me. I am 260lbs with a size 42 waist. If I was squeezed into a pair of skinny man jeans, I would look like a mushroom.

I guess to each his own. They will probably sell a bunch of these. Eclipse sold a lot of Star Frames.

Wow, cost more than the whole marker nowdays in the instance of a Mini. Seems like a Virtue OLED is a much cheaper way to go?
edit-correction, the Virtue OLED is $185...BOTH too high.

Considering the number on inputs and outputs these boards handle and what they do, $180 is insane. I can get a GPS reciever that picks up signals from outer space and tells me where I am at withen a few feet for less than that. Blu ray players are cheaper than that. It's not that hard to check an electric eye, check a trigger and power a solenoid. There is a bit more programming involved for the new display but still $180... The components and programming of the product just don't justify the price to me.

I don't get it?

..OH, Wait, now I get it! Paintball's finally come back to 'upgrades that don't actually do anything' after a long stay in 'Effective upgrades that get massaged into the factory gun' land.

I think I lost most interest in new paintball tech when they Released the mini, a Gun that was basically a barrel and a feedport with just enough receiver to mount a gripframe to. The paintball gun was complete, everything that could be taken away was taken away.

...So what, now we have to stick stuff back on? It should be as simple as my Freestyle: On, Off, And Blind. all you need for that is a trigger and a toggle switch. What's next, Touchscreen paintball guns by WDP?

But they sell millions of Gps units and blu-ray.
