A "space-dildo" simulates military standards more honestly then this "mil-sim" toy.

I think it was the tm7. since the grip frame was pl;astic instead of metal like the mini, the asa would rotate/wobble from side to side even if you only had a marginally heavy tank. there was enough play there for me to worry that the whole thing would just snap right off one day. maybe they did fix it prior to this, but I just stopped paying attention once I figured that out.

How so? Without further explanation that seems like a trolling comment to me.

This + the SA-17's 10 round stick feed give a nice low profile limited ammo solution for training or limited paint games. Molle vest and heavy remote tank seems to simulate carrying gear more then a fanny pack sitting right above your ***. I'm not saying it's perfect... but how does a bright blue DM9 with rotor simulate things better?

I'm not a huge fan of needing to make my own gear feel "mil-sim." It just happens to be the case that since playing pistol and stock class my gear has more of a mil-sim feel then tourney ball. Knocking mil-sim style won't offend me.

Because the answer is obvious to me, and you almost derived the explanation yourself in your reply.

When it requires a remote, which limits your safe range of motion, and when people use a sling to carry it... to me that's not Mil-Sim.

Military, especially the special-ops, remove anything unnecessary from their gear. If it doesn't serve a purpose, it's gone. Most of the plastic on this paintball gun serves no purpose but to make it look like something it isn't.
Training? There are mag-fed solutions on the market for that purpose. There is also Airsoft - exact replicas of weapons / magazines and their operation.
Limited paint? Any reliable marker can be fit for limited paint, especially one with a low profile clamping feedneck.
The bright blue DM9 is a smaller profile, unlikely to reveal you anyway (enemies see the barrel, the hopper, and perhaps your glove on the front grip).
You can always buy one black, olive, camo or drape/tape it.

To me Mil-Sim implies simulating the military approach to everything - teamwork, coordination, and using the best tool for the job whenever possible.
Playing to win. I understand it's a different definition then the one used to market products.

P.S. The only exception to me is Ramping - you want to limit firepower overall to keep the game interesting & safer.
Most field I visit are semi-auto only - and favorite private game restriction is hopperball.

Really? That's counter to what I've heard and seen that units are currently carrying their gear. I see photos coming back with lots of guys doing plenty of customizing to the slings, but certainly not doing away with them completely.

As to the rest of it. Seems just like a different definition of mil-sim then most people use. Distilling it down to "playing to win" is imho an oversimplification that justifies your personal downplaying the market for these markers.

I'm not even going to guess at what you consider pump or stock class then...
