NPPL Lowers Pump Division Entry!

Got an email today....

For Immediate Release:

NPPL Lowers Pump Division Entry Fees:

The NPPL Pump division originally started in 2005 and ran on Sundays only with no prizes, trophies and little support from the League. Over the years we have grown the pump division to as high as 20 pumps teams competing for the over all series. Because of the amount of teams playing the League move the division into a three day schedule like other divisions and offered trophies, cash prizes, and ID Cards. This forced the league to raise entry fees to be in line with the other divisions. The league wants to continue to support the pump division as pump is a grass roots format, entry level with allot of playing strategy, skill and finesse.

In an effort to continue the Pump Division the NPPL has reduced the fee to $1100.00 for the remainder of the 2012 season (note early birds will apply $900.00). We encourage pumps teams to take advantage of this reduced rate and sign up and play Chicago, DC and Vegas.

Chicago Pump Entry $1100.00

That is a hell of a deal and good of the NPPL to admit they made a mistake with the HB pump pricing. This also takes dead aim at the PSP pump division and gives NPPL an advantage in entry fees.

So, essentially, the largest pump state in the union boycotted the event.

Good for them.

The teams that would have been true to the league have been pushed away with all the price changes, schedule changes, etc.

I dont care if the entry was brought down even more, I still would not support the NPPL again. (even if my team wanted to, I would single myself out)

Still too much. We've been saying it over and over for years now. NPPL instead kept raising their prices. Went from 900 (two years ago), to 1200 (last year). Poor participation last year. What do they do? Go to 1500... Exactly how does that make sense?

I've moved on to supporting local stuff like the NEPL/NEXL. What did we have at the premier event, 8 or 9 pump teams? Yeah... They were willing to work with us. Sure, it took a few years to get here, but we're now dedicated to making it happen. You scratch our back, we'll scratch yours. It's how life works. These guys are learning too late who their friends were and / or should have been.

Why do I remember NPPL Buffalo back in 2008 costing me $500 or something for the team?
