Just a quick correction... From automags.org

So as far as our guns are concerned, the best efficiency would be had with an 8-10" effective length barrel.

Is that # not for the total barrel length, not just the insert? Really all any control bore setup does is allow you to adjust the diameter of the barrel, and I still have yet to see conclusive evidence that matching your paint to your barrel makes the inherently inaccurate paintball more accurate.

So the only real provable benefits (at least in this humble layman's opinion) of matching your bore size to paint size is efficiency and consistency.
So maybe a longer bore sizer could add more efficiency than a short one, but only up until the point that the ball is travelling at it's maximum velocity. If that happens in the length of an ifit, neither a freak or empire kit would allow less air to escape around the ball just because it is longer. Of course if it was still accelerating when it had already passed through the sizer, it would negate or at least reduce the efficiency gained by tightening up the gap between sizer wall and shell.

As far as accuracy, I have an old opsgear barrel with 98 threads that will shoot any paint straight. It's bore size is .693 iirc.

Actually the hard evidence is over at punk works ita been discussed ad nosium. Underboring with a control bore of approx 8 inches and an additional 4 to 6 inches of ported barrel lengrh for an overall length of 12 to 14 inches is best.

if someone paid me to do it and supplied the equipment necessary, I would run this test in a controlled environment (temp + humidity, at a constant pressure), measure every ball 12 times (throwing out the results of the most deviant measurements compared to the avg), and shoot thousands of balls to test varied length fronts, backs, and bore diameter. They did a great vid and test, certainly much more effort than I am going to apply to solving this particular problem. A sample size that small with so many unknown variables can hardly be called hard evidence.

does that grey match any other gun than the empire sniper? Kind of seems odd to put out a barrel that really only looks decent on one gun when that gun already comes with it.

If the barrel kit is 150 dollars, does that imply that the Empire Sniper is in fact a sub three hundred dollar pump gun? Lol.. Jk

Not going to comment on price, but would it be so hard for them to offer it with a black anno'd front? How many guns is that gray really going to match besides the Sniper itself?
