I'm trying to get it off to put on a longer one so my on/off of choice can reach. The ASA side came out while it was clamped in a vise. The HPR side on the other hand, crazy stuck. Looks like it has tape and the white liquid sealant on it. Anyone else had an issue getting this side off? I don't want to He-Man it because I want to keep from destroying the reg. |

I put it all in a bowl of hot water with the reg sticking out as much as possible. A few minutes in there and I got it free. They REALLY wrenched it down, and I think the hose they used is too long for the space, leading them to screw it in further than needed. |

At least I'm not crazy. Is that what's supposed to be done to break that specific pooky loose? Not that I don't believe you. I'm thinking of taking the snap ring off and slipping that part off of the reg and dunking it for a while before putting it in the vise. Plan B is to turn a piece of stock down to slip in the piece and turn on that with the hose in the vise. |
