Got mine in yesterday. Has anyone else taken off the line? I'm trying to get it off to put on a longer one so my on/off of choice can reach. The ASA side came out while it was clamped in a vise. The HPR side on the other hand, crazy stuck. Looks like it has tape and the white liquid sealant on it. Anyone else had an issue getting this side off? I don't want to He-Man it because I want to keep from destroying the reg.

I put it all in a bowl of hot water with the reg sticking out as much as possible. A few minutes in there and I got it free.

They REALLY wrenched it down, and I think the hose they used is too long for the space, leading them to screw it in further than needed.

At least I'm not crazy.

Is that what's supposed to be done to break that specific pooky loose? Not that I don't believe you. I'm thinking of taking the snap ring off and slipping that part off of the reg and dunking it for a while before putting it in the vise.

Plan B is to turn a piece of stock down to slip in the piece and turn on that with the hose in the vise.

I agree I totally misread what he first posted. Some how I though that was HIS site/store.

Best way to loosen a thread locker is with some heat. I think disassembling that part to heat it would be your best bet.

It's possible that I could have damaged the seals, but it is unlikely.

Actually, now that I think of it, I think I just ran it under the hot water tap (pouring the water on the wrench flats) for a few minutes.

Any ideas on how to get this thing quieter than it actually is?

Mine had red loctite. A few minutes in almost boiling water (the part, off the reg, rings removed) and a 12" piece of .500 aluminum and it was free.

^Looks great!

Mine too. Actually, mine had some weird combination of teflon tape, white paste, AND red loctite. And the numbskull that installed the hose scratched up the reg and ASA.

It's much better now.
