My Empire Trracer was nigh unusable before I put a bottomline on it.
Same goes for the Phantoms I've owned.

I am going to try and clear some things that I think is causing some confusion.

BBA might be okay if you are using a first strike friendly riser along with your optics of choice. Those adjustable risers give you an additional 2" or so, not including your optic's mounts. At that point you should be able to clear a mask even against a bba tank.

Or you could get a fancy $200 crossbow scope with adjustable fps settings and forgo the riser, but then you would definitely need a bottom line.

I've used bba for years and just had a 40mm red dot in it with no riser. That being said for the use of first strikes in intend to have an adjustable riser there

Just use a small tank. Like a 13cuin

Fixed my adorably topical image.

I agree that size of the tank does make quite a difference but I don't support blanket statements about only speedball guns needing to be bottomlined. Again, see Gary Coleman for details.

Just preordered mine through ANSgear, comes with a free tube of first strikes, which is nice because I'm to cheap to buy them.

Definitely agree here. I personally dont like my tank attached directly to the BBA. I find that the tank and mask collide and make aiming for me feel awkward. When i got my trracer, one of the first things i did to it was bottom line it and it felt way better.
