grip issue

quick question... does anyone else have issues with replacement grips no lining up nicely?

This is the grip lined up by matching grip holes with tapped inserts

This is the grip lined up with the frame

Is the lower insert off? are the Empire grips too wide? (not the grips I planned to use but the only ones not on a marker to try out fit)

nope, those Empire grips are not proper .45 standard from the looks of it. Most proper .45 panels should fit just fine.

i think 1911 grip screw holes are supposed to be equidistant from both front and rear edges. looks like your empire grip has the bottom screw hole closer to the back than others? maybe they elongated it to fit the word "empire?"

or it's made to fit one of their own frames, perhaps. either way it definitely looks like a deviation from the standard.

Tried the grips out on a Tippmann and Delta 68 and they fit weird there as well, which is odd since they fit my Shocker perfect... so it's the grips.
That said any suggestions for rubber grips that aren't Empire?
