Just leave the mag off. When you turn that thingy it closes the mag well breech and opens the hopper breech just run no mag.

all i know is all my spyder barrels, stock and after market, come with o-rings, while my cocker barrels don't. it just seems like most people who prefer cocker threads only do so because they already own cocker barrels, even though it isn't better, and that's horrible for advancement the same way why halos snap because the feedneck standard predates and was never intended for heavy hoppers.

both threads rarely have structural problems, i've never seen any, but cocker occasionally unscrews on me, especially on a hot desert full day of play, without some home mods. i already have both types of barrels and i prefer spyder, and given i've started at 05, i'll believe you that cockers had o-rings on their barrels, but even if both threads had o-rings at a point, it's apparently abandoned by one of them.

True dat, I'm sad that Spyder threading isn't the industry standard.

I'd want a smaller profile without having internals and such exposed.

Why not leave the mag in without paint? That's basically a dummy mag.

It won't be exposed that little thingy shuts the breech. I mean I understand what your looking for its similar to the ar5.7 where it uses p90 mags instead of normal m4 mags so the mag well is open so it basically comes with a tiny mag that sits flush with the bottom of the mag well to shut it closed. I get what your looking for. I'm just saying it should be much of an issue with the breech being closed off. If you want to get really frisky imagine you can mod a mag to make a dummy mag. Or get one of those cheapy prop mags from the tippman cosmetic kits and mod that

There were several companies selling mag fed FS capable guns at the cup. I stopped by the spyder tent last and was very impressed with the Hammer 7. For the price no one else can touch it! Very friendly reps too. I talked Ian at length about scenario tanks for quite some time.
