I don't count that as a automag.

I have always felt that the Automag was superseded, at least in design philosophy, by any number of unbalanced spool valve markers. Even blowbacks developed into ram driven electro-pneumatic guns. I don't think the auto-cocking platform really went anywhere past the Autococker itself, unless I am missing something.

I understand that the above is a very elementary interpretation of the situation.

EDIT: Though I suppose the Sterling and Blazer can be considered, by some at least, to be a further refinement of the Autococker.

Excalibur. When the BPS race started in the early 2000's, interest in closed bolt gun dropped because they were a little slower than open bolt. lack of interest stalled any new Inovations of closed bolt pnumatic ram driven paintball guns. This is what I have always felt atleast. Which doesn't bother me as I like the way the Autocockers are, although I felt the excalibur platform could have been greatly evolved if it wasnt for SP.

Not that we should get into this discussion here, but other than selling old stock from a basement, does AGD actually exist?

The available options on their site has been slowly dwindling over the last few years.

Menace is correct....

yet so is idkfa.

AGD's status is just sad if you ask me. Limping along with remaining stock and trying to sell what they can to stay afloat.

I called AGD to order parts a while back and talked with Dave Z. and tried to get something going for a 25th anniversary Automag...something pieced together with some cool parts and maybe engraved. He said it sounded interesting but that was about it. Called back a few months later for another parts order and mentioned it again and I chimed in with an upbeat..."I and several other faithful customers keep hoping for a comeback for AGD. Anything on the horizon?" His response was pretty much that the market wouldn't support a gun like the Automag - one that didn't cut corners in quality and used American-made components whenever possible. Sounded like they were just going to continue limping along.

C'mon AGD...put a new gun out, call it the Phoenix Mag and rise from the ashes! The faithful can always dream.

Without reading 200+ posts, is the front block available for those with Snipers looking for a convertible?
