ah yep, if they are cheap and fly ok, they might be worth it for harrassing fire.

I know a lot of this us repeat info, but here goes:
$30 for 100
.50 cal ball in .68 skirt
Skirt is compressed foam and is supposed to crumble/disintegrate on impact (feels like plastic to the touch)
"Fins" are more consistent, no burrs etc.
No barrel breaks!
Potentially no feed issues! (Durable skirt takes all the abuse from magazine force to bolts loading and firing)
Can use VERY brittle .50 cal paint, even in rough guns!

What I didn't find out was performance stats...

The companies gun is great too, might get one. Mags hold high cap shaped projectiles and are about $25 each. Better paint retention design too!

just a FYI regarding the price difference. I was recently ordering some First Strikes for my field and asked them if they were going to offer anything different in the future- ie. bulk quantities, ect and they said "not at this time but the price will be going down soon" so they can probably see the writing on the wall and figure they better drop thier prices. I personally don't like the design of these new rounds but won't dismiss them until I try them.

I guess I won't dismiss them until you try them either. LOL. But seriously I think I will wait and see what people have to say about them before I try them.

They are a little lighter than First Strikes. The mold they are using for the fins gives them a very clean edge. If anyone has any questions that have not been answered about these post them here in the next few hours and I will bring them up for Scarab Arms when I see them this afternoon.

If the fins and the combined .50 ball are lighter than an FS, they will fly worse than an FS but, maybe better than a .68 That's assuming that the lip or any other portion of the skirt doens't introduce any negative effects.

In regards to cleaner edges, etc. That certainly wasn't the case based on the photos in the original post. There's plenty of flash at the back end and, there's random dimples (moled injection points?). FS rounds have flash of varying amounts back there but, the only dimple/bump is centrally located on the nose.

The cleaner edges was based on side by side comparison I did on Tuesday. I will see if I can inspect a larger sample today.

Sooo... won't the center of gravity be more rearward in these than in FSRs? If so will that negatively affect flight characteristics?
Cockerpunk where're you at?

They don't look to aerodynamic. But I could see a lot more fields allowing these if the fins break apart and biodegrade like they claim. I really hope they work.
