Seems like the buffer tube might contain the mainspring and some of the hammerbolt's movement.
I think it can. Judging from the pics Ive seen you should be able to remove the stock and put a plug where the buffer tube attaches. when you flip it open the stock is part of the lower receiver half and the valve system is in the upper half so once you flip it open it looks like you can pull the charge handle back and the valve slides out the back with it uninterrupted.

is their valve system made to run hpa (preferably)? or compatible with co2? If so, pretty nifty.

yeah, it's currently the running joke among a few paintball pundits. In more recent vids, the tiberius reps initially gave April 1 as the release date but are correcting themselves by saying the first week of April.

Apparently it's a stupid idea since you'd barely get 1 mag off of one 12 gram. I doubt I'd even buy something that inefficient.

It would have been nice to have the efficiency of an SR1. I plan to shoot FS primarily. The fields I play at, a fill station is always nearby so efficiency is not a deal breaker for me personally. I can see players who will use this as their primary regular paintball will have issues. Do you or anyone know the efficiency of this marker. I don't think that has been established yet.
