What bothers the crap out of me is this and i quote "Franklin High School Principal Dave Gregory noted the boys were good students and would not face any school sanctions." If it wasnt on school property or a school event stay the hell out of our lives. This really bothers me when schools stick there nose in peoples lives.

Well, they have the supreme power of shaping the next generation's minds. Given that power, they cant stay out of the kids lives.

I've shot plenty of animals, raccoons/ground hogs/dogs, never lethal single pump of a pellet rifle, just enough to get them to stop what they are doing or to get them out of the area.

I had a friend of mine shoot my cat with a airsoft gun....cat just stared at him lol.

To kill two skunks you can't be sorry or not know what your doing.
Also as someone else mentioned what were they doing with a paintball gun on state property, I'm sure that theres some law against that and that came into play along with animal cruelty

The only bad part is that it said they were prohibited from owning paint ball guns.

Thats were I have a problem. School is to teach them how to learn. Parents and life is suppose to shape there minds not School and government.

I don't the want the school to raise my kids. Thats my job.

IMO they should be punished harder. You get fined more for littering where I live. They killed not one but 2 animals.

as for people calling the "good kids made a mistake" quote from the lawyer BS... of course! Even the lawyer might not agree with it, but it's his/her job to find a way to make the kids appear appealing.

If you're going to kill something, do it because you have to; if you have to kill something, do it quick so it's less painful for it.

My thoughts as well. I don't feel bad for the kids at all...but the poor markers!

In colorado, no license is needed to kill skunks( on your land, where as Im faily shure there is no bag limit with a small game license on skunks on public land, granted they did this on public land). The only rule (which varies by area) is that if your going to make noise doing it (ie shotgun) you do it before 10 PM. The cops went way too far.

This isn't shooting an animal in the head to kill it.

This is beating an animal to death for fun.
