That's why I won't pay that price. I'll wait for some kid at the field to destroy it and then I'll buy it cheap

We raffled off literally the first production one in the states for the Guns for Hoses event a couple weeks ago, it is just a vinyl wrap or something like that, it is VERY pretty though.

Edit: idk if this pic will show up:

Looks pretty neat. I wonder how this axe will compare to the normal axe in terms of weight? I wonder how the weight difference will affect recoil, maybe this will have a bit more kick to it?

The body only has a carbon fiber wrap, this is the reason i have decided to pass on it lol. Had a chance to pre order with my sponsorship.

Has anyone noticed that they milled it differently? either less or more meat, but it looks like they milled it down to where the grooves and whatnot of the typical axes doesn't show anymore, so it should be lighter as well.

Also, what the ****? The carbon wrap is gloss and the tip is matte and the chrome is obviously gloss. They need a new design team for gun cosmetics. This is silly that they can't churn out a decent looking marker :/

Seems to me they're trying hard to be misleading here. If the whole thing was truly CF they would brag about it. As is IMO it looks like a superflous bump in MSRP for a fancy looking barrel and board upgrade that should be standard at this point.

ETA:

Ok, so it seems it's chromed out as well and the body is wrapped to look like the tip. Yeah, Pass.

Handled on at my local shop. Body is aluminum with a wrap of some sort, barrel is aluminum back with cf tip.

The wrap over the aluminum body looks pretty cheap in person.

We're not trying to be misleading at all and I apologize if our pre-release literature has come across that way.

The Axe LE actually has thin layer of real carbon fiber wrapped around the body and coated. It is durable and pretty badass.

So? Is the body made out of Carbon Fiber too? Or is it just a facade? Like Veneer on wood.

It doesn't actually say.
I will never forget the day when I was laughed at for suggesting this as an option back around sometime 2001 2003 on Doc's site.
Glad to finally see this product being used as an integral part of the mechanical aspect of a gun other than using it just for accessories and what not.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

Splattttttt, us automag guys have been doing it for years!

As for this marker being "real" carbon fiber wrap, maybe that's the case but being that it's such a fine veneer of lighter material (and heavy bonding agents) over ever-so-slightly smaller than stock hunk of aluminum, it seems a little bit silly/expensive to go that route rather than hydrodipping.
