No need to worry on the neutral score; it won't qualify for non-profit status otherwise... and besides, that's the way I do things. You are correct in suggesting that it should be specifically stated in the corporate papers and it will be |

1: In this whole discussion is Dye selling their patent to SP b/c i don't support SP and I love my matrix. 2: Steve I am willing to donate to your 501(c) organization i really want paintball to get back to invention and innovation so new things can come out with out SP being immature and exploiting the idea and small bank accounts of other companies that don't live through AGGlets and pressure tactics to gain a profit. thanks |

Please allow their wood grips to still be sold........I'll have a hard time getting rid of all these w/o the amazing people here =] Anyway did Tippmann or any of these other guns ever apply for a patent for the gas through handle? If they didn't is that how SP was able to get this patent even though it was another companies design?

An early version of the tippy SMG got a patent for sure (it showed the SL-68 2 style grip). We're still trying to figure out where SP wants to go with this one. And buying SP wood grips second hand or on sale is not the same as supporting SP. E

I was on the phone today with John Ricci of the patent office I spoke of SPs quashing of innovation thru the use of lawyers and mentioned the Navy patent He seemed unaware of the controversy and the previous art We should compose a letter to him |

Someday, when we go to the field we won't see Spyders and Tippys and Timmys and PMs and Minis and AKAs, all we will see is this year's SP marker, fully customized with a single line of SP upgrade parts, a SP barrel, hopper and tank, wielded by teams wearing SP jerseys, pants, shoes, goggles, gloves, and jock straps. And I will enjoy shooting each and every one of them in the head with a Phantom. |

Just got back from the patent office. I have appointments made for a week from now. I spent the rest of my time looking up prior-art on various other patent issues in the paintball world. There are surprisingly few patents for a lot of the markers that we've been discussing. this is probably due to the fact that most of the systems used by, for example, tippmann, were covered under earlier patents of theirs and thus didn't need to be re-filed for protection. The Art on the SMG series could be a little tricky as the patents themselves don't make reference to the air-line traveling through the grip, however, the Factory F/A patent art clearly shows the connection through the grip frame and the fact that the asa is integrated to said frame. I have my badge for the office now, which means I can save the searched patents in my own file there at the office and go back to them when needed without searching for them again. I must say, the place is pretty fantastic. Interestingly enough, apparently Tippmann at one point came up with a "paintball vest" that had a matrix of sensors underneath the top-fabric that would tell a player when they were "hit". I found it kind of odd. Mind you, it would keep the damned wipers at tournaments honest. |
