CCM Discontinued Pump Handle

Today on Facebook, CCM announced that they are discontinuing the production of their popular "EZ-T Pump Handle".

Straight from their post:

"Hey all,
Just wanted to give everyone the headís up that the EZ-T pump handle has been discontinued as of today. There is one left in stock if anyone wants it.
It is $35.00 plus shipping, with the plate color choice of Polish Black, Dust Black and Polish Silver.
Thank you!"

any reason to discontinue a popular pump handle?

They didn't mention one.

Probably because it takes a 4th axis to do the main geometry of the handle. The round ones don't. 4th axis machining is a lot slower than 3 axis.

True. Unless they had access to a HUGE corner rounding tool. But even then, yuck.

I bet they do the T grips on the same machine ad the EZT. I would guess it was probably the least popular handle so it was dropped, CCM is very busy making great stuff for us, this is probably them making cuts to make us stuff faster.

They may bring it back once they catch up with production.

probably so they can charge double for it when they re-release it as new

Dr. PhunkyPants 10-23-2013 11:15 PM

Which they won't do.
