GI buys Tippmann?

Has anyone else heard about this? I've seen a bunch of rumors floating around on Facebook and wanted to see if anybody else has heard this? Also, if it is true, what could it mean to Tippmann? Personally, I've never really been a big fan of GI Sportz but have been a big fan of tippmann for a long time.

I hadn't heard this, GI is a major distributor of Tippmann since they bought Procaps.
I will have to investigate.

Who owns Tippmann now? Isn't it K2 or some huge international sports corp?

A non-industry-specific conglomerate bought it in 2004. They aren't affiliated with K2. In fact, didn't Kee end up with K2's assets somehow?

*sigh*

one would think with the same parent company owning all those software companies that tippmann could make a decent board.

Seems like a pretty diverse portfolio, Tippmann kinda sticks out like a sore thumb though. How do you go from all those software/tech companies to a paintball marker manufacturer? Odd.

I've seen that group before with their (now previous) ownership of Tippmann. On their 'about' portion, it shows that they either try to take the company public or sell their portion after it experiences growth. You aren't taking Tippmann public, but if they got in around 2004 like they say, they probably had some good growth years. They also contracted a good chunk over the last 5 years too.

I think I remember reading an article when the company was sold stating that it fit into an outdoor and athletic equipment segment at Summit.
