WDP restructures and becomes "Angel Paintball Sports"

I was pretty surprised that I missed it, but heres the link:

I wonder if this'll mean new markers, or more modified A1s... Apparently at this point it just means new US distributors, and nothing more. I wonder whether US production will be stepped up?

There was a time 9 years ago when it was the #1 tournament gun. But there is lots, and lots of competition now, and the NOBODY wants to pay $1000+ for a gun, now that similar guns like the ION can be bought new for $175.

There has been a huge shift in the industry about 5 years ago from locally made products, to everything being made in China, sold through distributors.

These days, product names are used for little more then product recognition, and marketing.

I'm afraid this restructuring is simply the writing on the wall that another great company will be going the way of so many other companies that us older ballers grew up with and respected so much.

I'm afraid Angels will be the next $800 gun on the $249.99 closeout special and then the company will disappear.....

All the agglets have $900+ guns and at least half (no joke) are angels, especially A1's.

It's sad, but then again I'll take a $250 A1 any day of the week.

It seems kids nowadays want companies that pump out markers every year with new milling.

It's been that way for a long time. Back in the day people screamed for new milling, better triggers, better efficiency on and on ad nauseam but the big manufacturers wouldn't do it. So the custom shops got into the game and you could easily pay for a mechanical autococker twice what the best Ego or Angel or DM on the market today costs.

It's the same as it's always been but now the big companies just cut the custom shops out and offer the custom looking versions each year themselves.

I sure hope they don't go under. I've always been a fan of their soft goods. I am going to be buying their new 08 airtime pants soon, seeing as my 06's are starting to fall apart a little too much. I've never used an angel but they seem to be nice guns. Their stuff has always been a bit too expensive for me, but there will still be LCD's, LED's, and IR3's for decent prices. I've been meaning to pick one up. I do agree though on how every year they improve maybe one small part on all these guns and then change the milling.
