6351 Aluminum Alloy Tanks

Hey guys just a heads up on Hydro tests for these tanks. A very good read. I actually have had a tank that is condemned up here in Canada. An old one I got with my original Black Widow.

HTats more for dive tanks, but i guess lots of people fill their paintball tanks from larger dive tanks.

Aluminum vessel that large, with 4500psi+... nothing to screw around with. there were some stories around this article on the old MCB about some people that got fill operators killed by using these tanks... after they had them powdercoated

Most pre 1990 Al scuba tanks in the US are on their last hydro now, they will all be condemned as there hydro run out. Do not bother running out to get that old scuba tank hydroed it can not be done legally in 2008. (250,000 fine) The whole reg is just about one tank made with a bad run of 6k alloy tanks. DOT feels it better to get rid of all the old tanks than to risk one slipping through.

Well that sucks. Both of mine are very much pre-'90.
