Well, they claimed they had a patent on electrical trigger switches (any electrically switched trigger!) back in the day, so... yes?

In patent lawsuits, it basically comes down to what you can convince a judge to sign off on...

that is true. but if comes down does look like it. whole another thing. since if some what looks like it in shape and size your out luck since judge will go on person that filled patent on it.

This is all a Richmond and Gino feud. The Gardners split from GI a long time ago. Supposedly...

As best as I can tell, this is correct. The Gardners are no longer involved with them.

Forgive me, but hasn't Italia demonstrated the same lack of concern for the growth of our sport as the likes of the Garndners?

They all run off the same business model. They act as distributors first, then create poor terms for the companies they distribute for, freeze out companies from the channel that refuse to play ball, then buy out their distressed assets. And they like to sue each other for IP they get through shady practices.

And when they get run out of business they restructure and reappear as a new company. Gino did the same thing to get to where he is as well.

I'm sure they would argue that they are the reason paintball is still relevant. And its somewhat true as I don't think any of these companies make the money we'd like to believe. It just provides an entity to milk investors that end up paying for sponsorship and new products.

Richmond Italia created the modern push for .50 cal because he was under a non compete clause for .68 caliber, no other reason . Anyone who believes otherwise should contact him because he would love e to sell to you based on your naivety.
That's his m.o. just as example.
