I hate to say it, but this acually sounds like Smart Parts came up with their own idea for once. Air controlled clip/mag thingy, interesting idea.

sounds like they're taking a page out of ATS's book and going a little further with it.

Welllllllll, if you patent others' work so much sooner or later you are gonna get a new idea. Just like putting a bunch of monkeys on typewriters, sooner or later they are gonna type one of shakespears' plays.

I had this idea a while ago and posted it on A5OG I believe... Lemme try to fish it up
EDIT: NVM, I just drew up the plans, didn't post them anywhere. Unless they hacked into my computer, they came up with it by themselves from what I can tell.

Does sound like the A-5/X7 cyclone feeder system but based on a system similar to Trinity's MG-4/Rap4 T68 gensomething mag fed marker line....wonder how would Tippmann Sports view this, and also BP-USA (Black Point Engineering, also known as Jet City Specialties, designers and makers of the XM-8 right before SP8 came out), since the XM-8 had provision in the design for a magazine feed but they elected to go with hopper for the time being... hm.

Sounds like the pack that was shown at IAO back in 2001 or so, air pressure pushed balls up a flex hose, to a shocker turbo....

Sigh, I had this idea a decade ago in college ... kind of in conjunction with a self-contained magazine idea. Snooze, lose, yadda yadda

Basically the idea is similar to how airsoft magazines work, with a long spring pressing on a long string of balls, except that you use regulated air behind a traveling piston or seal, that maintains constant pressure throughout the whole stack of balls. A long spring would be unrealistic for paintballs because of the fragility factor. Nice idea for paintball since we use compressed gas already.

There are a few design challenges, depending on the specifics... a regulator small enough to fit inside the mag, a reliable piston mechanism, air routing to supply the pressure chamber (onboard cylinder perhaps?)
