Ive been wondering for a while why someone dosnt just time X-volume of air for X-seconds to provide X-volume at X-pressure.

Thats a pretty damn cool idea, but I wonder how the follower will get around the bend while maintaining a seal.

Are they going to have some kind of quick disconnect pneumatic fittings, or an on-mag air source? I don't see this being very practical. If you're using on-gun air, you now have to make a sealed connection with a removable piece. If you're using an on-mag source, you add weight+cost to each mag (ala Tib 8).

I see this as more of an "idea-block" patent than something SP will actually produce, to keep the more mil-sim oriented companies from developing any kind of pneumatic magazine without paying royalties.

the air will be routed like on the RAP series with a small valve face in the mag housing.

russc...Could be a dummy ball that will not "pass" into the chamber... as in the soft sealing ball they were talking about.

Amazing!

So they are applying for a pneumatically powered paintball magazine?

Like this thing below?

True, they look different, but both patent apps are worded NEARLY IDENTICAL. Both are pneumatically powered magazines. The difference is that SP is using the RAP-style, instead of the old Tippmann style.

Nothing original, and I agree that the only goal here is to find a way to screw Rap and China Paintball.
