| Take it from me, I am from this generation. Most of them are dumb. Plain and simple. There are a few good ones, but the majority of them are blissfully ignorant of themselves in connection to the real world. |

| there is a whole lot of this - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and "get off my lawn" in this thread. are we really any different than your generation? i HIGHLY doubt anything has changed. there will always be bimbo girls, and tomboy girls, and poeple who can spell, and slackers, and perfectionists, and every other kind of person. nothing really changes guys. the current generation is no different than yours, or the mid 1640's.

| This is called being young. Rest assured that your parents and grand parents were little different at the same age. This doesn't include folks that were young during the depression or other kinds of events that significantly stressed society. |

What's funny are the twenty year olds that do it and get all conservative like. Heh, Winston Churchill had a nice quote on young conservatives and old liberals.

| Im a young person and in general cant stand my generation. The real differance between mine and say 5 generations ago is simple. People in general will ony do/think just enough to get by. Technology is simply the few people (compared to the whole population) who have the abbility to build on the knowledge of previous generations. Now because the knowlege that was needed to build the technology is generaly not needed to operate it the knowlege is lost by those who dont care to learn it. look at cars, how many of you can drive stick, and of those that cant why cant you? And to those who can drive stick how many can double clutch? And to those how many know what the pedels do an a model T, or how to adjust the engines timing, using timing controls found on steering wheel no less, while driving? Out of those people, how many know the prooper care and feeding (pun intended) of say a horse or mule, Its endless folks. To put it simply, man grows wiser and yet weaker every day. |

If anything life has gotten more fast paced and more complicated rather than less. Most likely its about on par with before given the human animal hasn't changed and our bandwidth remains largely unchanged. As far as weaker goes, human physical performance has risen, at least among top atheletes. As a species our survivability increases over time (i.e. stronger rather than weaker). As individuals it depends.

| Ultimate Battle Monkey Z | Fat and lazy is now pretty much SOP for over 30% of the population. I hardly think that because we have better performance enhancing drugs for ball players, that the human physical condition has improved all that much.

| my thoughts are pretty much expressed above. I tend to surf Wikipedia (as poor as it can be) and other knowledge outlets in my spare time; I've taken the time to learn most of what i need to do to care for myself no matter what (yes, i can dress a chicken, but don't count on me being able to take on anything larger) i honestly think that even basic knowlege should be requisite for some of today's technology. I mean, it's pretty damn scary to think how many people out there, driving every day, haven't the foggiest idea of how a car actually works. I know alot of people who literally can't change their own tire (and i mean change it over for a spare, not install and seat new rubber).
