EMR Castle Conquest XXV - Rule Changes

Press Release:

"BLUE and BLUE’S CREW is leading the defense and is joined by teams: CANADIAN CONTINGENT, CANADIAN JUSTICE, CARTER’S COMMANDO, CATAWBA MARAUDERS, CAMPBELLS, CHI-TOWN HUSTLERS, CLARION PB CLUB, CORPORAL PUNISHMENT, DELTA, FERRYMEN, GOBS, JERSEY TITANS, LORDS OF CHAOS, MALTESE MILITIA, RAGNAROK, MISDIRECTED HOSTILITIES, SCREAMING FLYING WICKED WOMBATS, SPLATYPUS, STRIKE FORCE, TORMENT, VOODOO, AND WOODCHUCK. BLUE has a completely new style of defense planned and with JOINT FURY leading the attackers, it will be the battle of the decade."


CHANGES IN RULES... This is where the CC's need to pay attention folks. Both for the guys defending and attacking!


"The Defender Win Rule has been changed to now the Defenders have to hold Castle AAARRGH for 4 Hours with less than 5 objectives being retrieved by the Attackers to win the game. If the Attackers retrieve 5 objectives within the first 4 hours, then the game continues until all 10 objectives have been retrieved."


Get that? 4 hours total now. Extra paint WILL be needed by the sounds of it. 5 Objectives in the 4 hours.

CASTLE CONQUEST is the Longest Running, Largest, Attack and Defend Game in Paintball and is the epiphany of PURE PAINTBALL INSANITY. If you like In Your Face playing, this game is for you. It pits odds of four to one attackers versus defenders trying to take over CASTLE AAARRGH and commandeer and remove 10 objectives out of the castle. CASTLE AAARRGH is also the Largest, Nastiest Castle in paintball with over 32,000 square feet of playing area within it's confines. It sports three story towers and full 8' deep second story ramparts completely surrounding a full courtyard of buildings and barricades. Absolutely. I usually run out at the 2 hour 50 minute mark, and end up begging for pods to finish the game.

Oh, and I didn't go too crazy reporting the fact that the "defender spots are filled" as a lot of other sites are doing.

We've.. *ahem* known that for months.

Me, I never make it that long in the Castle. When I run out of a case or two of paint and all my air, I am generally pretty well pooped anyway.

I think Blue is just trying to figure out a way to be done with the follow-up second Castle game. He wants one game to last all day...

That's alright, in ten years, I have only ever played that second game once, I think. Beer and an easy seat become more important than the game after a while.

Seems to me that we're playing the game until the Attackers finally win (which is BS in my opinion). The previous game format seemed pretty good to me. If Blue really wants an all-day game, he could set it up so that the castle defenders have an opportunity to recapture the props that the attackers have won. Again, I'd rather keep things as they were

At spring castle I usually shoot between 1.5 and 2 cases of paint. That's my limit (both in stamina and $$$).

I've only played the second castle game once - is organizing the second game enough of a hassle that Blue wants to get rid of it?

Seems like that to me too, but I wouldn't call it BS really. When we (attackers) lost last spring, I was really disappointed. Coming all the way to EMR and having the game be over in 2 (or whatever) hours was a real letdown (granted most of the letdown was with the attacking team since they were all a bunch of wussies) . I didn't even get to shoot half a case.
Defenders almost always have a great time, and there is an expectation of losing the game. Attackers need love too!
