New Website and product from Fogtech and Motosolutions

I wanted to tell you about two pieces of big news here at MotoSolutions, the makers of Fogtech.

First, we have a new, updated website. You can find it at the old address Moto Solutions The new site will allow you to quickly find more information about our products.

Second, we have finally introduced Raincoat Advanced Water Repellent Coating! In development for four years, Raincoat is a very special transparent wax. When applied to plastic goggles, shields, masks or glasses, Raincoat improves vision by shedding the water drops that would normally stick.

So if you, your employees or your customers do their job or their sport in wet conditions, Raincoat will help vision tremendously. Think rain, cooling towers, spray cleaning, motorcycle, bicycling, shooting/hunting, outdoor security camera domes, airplane/helicopter windshields, etc. Here is a link to a one minute video on how Raincoat works to clear water drops from a polycarbonate face shield.

Raincoat Demonstration

There is more information on the new site and as always, don't forget to save 20% off your order of Fogtech by entering DELTA in the coupon box at checkout.

I wonder how different the rain stuff is from Rain X.

I wear glasses, and I need all the help i can get. I have the fogtech wipes and they work fine against fog, but the water from sweat seems to break down the spray very quickly. Can I use both products on my glasses?

thanks

Gene here, I make Raincoat. I have done lots of testing and have found very little water repellency from RainX on plastic lenses. Rain-X is great on glass and lasts for months. On plastic, not too much.

Raincoat lasts from many days to weeks on plastics. It has an outstanding beading effect on drops of water. Even seems to bead up some thin fill paint but I need more input from players on that.

Yes, excessive water on your lenses from sweat, humidity or rain causes the Fogtech to eventually run off your shield. So the fogging returns. There may be help coming from a permanent anti-fog coating made of tiny, tiny beads of glass that is sintered onto the lens. This coating is porous and allows the water to enter and spread out from the attraction of water to glass. But this coating is at least 2 to 3 years away from being commercialized.

I don't think Raincoat will help your sweat because the two products solve two different problems. Raincoat is designed to 'bead up' drops of water and Fogtech is designed to spread it out. I have applied Fogtech over Raincoat. The lens did not fog, but larger drops did not bead up until I washed away all the Fogtech. Then the Raincoat started to kick in.

I would suggest that you wear an absorbent head band to catch the sweat coming off your head. If you are already doing that, then you may have to go with a fan and Fogtech.

Myself, I've found the fogtech wipes, plus the no-foam, rubber SCUBA mask type seal of the Vantage field model to be the perfect recipe for glasses, I gave away all my JTs, fan and all.
The only way I would change, is if you guys or Vforce stop making what I use now.

Great Product and I look forward to trying your new stuff!!!

I am thinking raincoat on the outside on the lense to bead water off in foul weather scenarios and fogtecg on the inside to get rid of fog. Sounds like the ticket!

Have you attempted to use Raincoat on goggles to see the result of a paint hit?

If it gives a scotch guard effect then I think it should be illegal.
