Automags and A5's are both durable.. But I don't think milsimers like Mag's, with the exception of the Tac-One, which isn't milsim.

I didn't see all those other posts, I pulled up this page and went to do something else. This was a response to a post a while back.

I know, it's just that the Ion is a much easier package to work with, especially since they're a dime a dozen. For quite a while there it was the best bang you could get for your paintball buck (Although the SLG beat it out when its MSRP dropped to $199.99).

Then I must be a moron then...I put that much into my Ion easily...Not so much for performance or looks,it's that I wanted mine set up a certain way and would spend what thought was worth it for what I'd like on it...It's called customizing or at least that's what we called it back when I started. It's no different than what some of us used to do to our old Spyders and such,it's all preference and you shouldn't generalize as I consider it money well spent...Ask anyone that's shot my Ion and they'll agree.

I really don't care about the Luxe. I'm not a big fan of SP products but I'm not going to say it's crap till i see it in person. The only things I have a problem with is saying punk is the worst thing to come out of England.

Punk came from the US. It started at CBGB's with the Ramones, though it is noted that the first band to be called punks were the Stooges which were from Ann Arbor.

Sure England put punk on the map, but it was created in the US.

o'rly? Invented by the Ramones you say?

Ramones - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
the ramones were coming to fruition about the same time, however England broke the scene in much the same way Seattle birthed Grunge, yet there were grunge bands all over the country. it was the stimula of seventies stadium rock that was the father, disillusionmnet and the lower working class in both countries that were the mothers.
I like to think the americans refined it and orange county polished it in particular. what the English birthed was vile.

On 6 November, 1975, a scruffy bunch of kids blagged a support gig at an art college in London. The group " Glen Matlock, John Lydon, Steve Jones and Paul Cook " dragged their gear across the Charing Cross Road from a rehearsal room in nearby Tin Pan Alley to St Martins College, got on stage and plugged in.
Notice the 75.

Here's one from ramones.com

Quote:
The Ramones were loud and fast - Everyone knows that, even the poor, blind saps who never loved the band. But the Ramones were many things, and gloriously so, from the moment of their inception in Forest Hills, New York, in 1974, until their final concert, #2,263, in Los Angeles on August 6, 1996.
Its amazing that the birth of punk happened a year after the Ramones were formed.

Edit:

Yes, but your discounting all the band that helped make punk. New York Dolls, Television, The Stooges, Patti Smith. The Sex Pistols were formed by McLauran after seeing the Ramones and CBGB's bands. Sure Punk it a huge stride because of the Sex Pistols, but more importantly I feel the Clash. But it was birthed in the US.

Now The British Punk did inspire the Americans to create hardcore punk which was bands like Bad Brains and such more so than the CBGB's crowd did. But really that's a whole different matter.

Also one of the ebst non biased views of punk I read was from the No Thanks box set. It really traced the evolution of Punk during the 70's really well.

OC ain't bad but I value the San Fran/Gilman Street to making punk awesome.

the date they first practiced was the birth?...., when in multi interviews they claim they could scarcely play their instruments yet alone master the 3 string power chord 2 min slash fests they became famous for. Punk was a movement, it was global, but london spewed it spitting slobbering and puking from it's nether regions. Those two links are just fast googles, I could dig, there were other bands in the scene before the pistols, they were just the poster boys.

Punk rock is an anti-establishment rock music genre and movement that emerged in the mid-1970s. Preceded by a variety of protopunk music of the 1960s and early 1970s, punk rock developed between 1974 and 1976 in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, where groups such as the Ramones, Sex Pistols, and The Clash were recognized as the vanguard of a new musical movement. By 1977, punk was spreading around the world.

Punk rock bands, eschewing the perceived excesses of mainstream 1970s rock, created fast, hard music, typically with short songs, stripped-down instrumentation and often political or nihilistic lyrics. The associated punk subculture expresses youthful rebellion and is characterized by distinctive clothing styles, a variety of anti-authoritarian ideologies, and a DIY (do it yourself) attitude.

Punk rock quickly, though briefly, became a major cultural phenomenon in the United Kingdom. For the most part, punk took root in local scenes that tended to reject association with the mainstream. By the beginning of the 1980s, even faster, more aggressive styles such as hardcore and Oi! had become the predominant mode of punk rock. Musicians identifying with or inspired by punk also pursued a broad range of other variations, giving rise to the alternative rock movement. By the turn of the century, new pop punk bands such as Green Day were bringing the genre widespread popularity decades after its inception.
